Facundo Campazzo is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 13 of the NBA season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 22% of leagues
ANALYSIS: First things first: Monte Morris is back for the Nuggets and although he came off the pine in his first game back (30 minutes against Utah on Jan. 5) he already started on Friday against the Kings playing 31 minutes at the PG spot. With that out of the way, let's discuss Facundo Campazzo, now back to backup-point-guard duties. Which doesn't mean he has lost all of his WW appeal. Far from it.
Obviously, Facu is not going to stay on the court for his 30+ MPG of late. No, sir, but with all of Murray/Markus/Dozier out for a long time still, the Argentinian will stay on that PG2 role without much trouble. The minutes should go down to around 25 MPG a day, and hey, it's not that Campazzo started more than four games lately, so hold your anxiety horses.
Campazzo is going to miss playing big minutes against the likes of Jokic and Gordon as he moves to the second unit, but that should also boost his usage rate a bit and provide him with some more chances at shooting the rock. Not phenomenal at it, surely, but capable of hitting his three-point shots here and there (1.2 3PM on the season) and getting close to the 8-to-10 point-range nightly. Most valuable, though, are Facu's steals (1.2 SPG on the year, 1.7 on the past two weeks of play) and blocks (not a nightly occurrence but at 1.0 BPG since Dec. 22--eight games played, that is).
