BALLER MOVE: Sit
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB5
ANALYSIS: Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is the RB58 in full-PPR on the season. He's taken a backseat to fellow RB Rico Dowdle and might be about to participate in a disgusting three-way commitee -- former Minnesota Vikings star RB Dalvin Cook is joining the fray, and was promoted to the active roster ahead of Week 8.
2016-2019 Ezekiel Elliott is elite.
2020-2021 Ezekiel Elliott was great.
2022-current Ezekiel Elliott is beloved, but isn’t that guy.I’m not sure this 2024 #Cowboys squad could be saved by 2020 Zeke.
Now, another not-the-same RB in Dalvin Cook is added to a cooked team. pic.twitter.com/Qre4MdTQnq

He was once a fantastic running back, but a few years and a mountain of volume in the NFL wears players down. He doesn't have anything resembling the elite explosiveness and power he once had. He also hasn't handled more than 10 touches in a single game this season. Since Week 1, he hasn't had a contest where he's exceeded 6 PPR fantasy points.
The entire backfield might not be startable in fantasy leagues this week. They face an extremely tough defense in the San Francisco 49ers, and running room could be scarce. Their high-powered offense could force the Cowboys into a pass-heavy gameplan, which would limit the running backs' potential heavily.
Don't start him this week.
