BALLER MOVE: Target Around ~129 Overall
CURRENT ADP: ~109
ANALYSIS: After spending the 2023 season with the New England Patriots, running back Ezekiel Elliott finds himself back with the Dallas Cowboys for the 2024 campaign. Dallas signed Elliott to a one-year deal this offseason, and the veteran is expected to be heavily involved.
The Cowboys let Tony Pollard walk in free agency and didn't draft a running back in the 2024 NFL Draft. As a result, the team will roll with Elliott and Rico Dowdle this upcoming season. While Dowdle could see somewhere between 40% to 50% of Dallas' offensive snaps every week, the veteran's touchdown upside should make him a solid weekly flex play.
Last season, the Cowboys scored the most points in the NFL, meaning Elliott should see plenty of touchdown opportunities in 2024. The three-time Pro Bowler has scored at least 10 rushing touchdowns in three of his past four years in Dallas (2019, 2021, and 2022) and that shouldn't stop this season.
Fantasy managers shouldn't expect the veteran to be a workhorse back -- like they are used to seeing him in Dallas. Dowdle will be involved in both the running and passing game, especially after head coach Mike McCarthy said this backfield will be a committee. However, Elliott will no doubt be the team's goal-line back, a role that should help him finish with solid flex numbers. At his ADP, he is a sleeper option in 2024 because of his potential to finish with 10-plus touchdowns.

UPDATE: With Elliot having to vie for touches with Rico Dowdle and possibly even Royce Freeman, Malik Davis, or Deuce Vaughn, his ranking has been dropped to where he is no longer an ADP value. If he drops below his ADP in your draft, you may want to consider drafting him but don't reach for him higher than pick 130 when backs like Chase Brown, Jerome Ford, and Trey Benson may still be available.
