ANALYSIS: I don't think we can really count Week 4 as something meaningful in any of the Jacksonville Jaguars skill-position players' track record this season. I mean, QB Trevor Lawrence was sacked a gazillion times, fumbled the ball four times, and only completed 11 passes in 23 throws. With that sort of passing volume every WR/TE was going to suffer.

Good for Jacksonville's receiving corps, things got fixed this past Sunday with 47 targets (and 25 completions) up for grabs. Evan Engram got 10 of those 47 looks for a 21.2% target share while catching six passes for 69 yards on Sunday facing the Texans at home. It was a performance worth 12.9 PPR points and a high-end TE1 finish pending MNF.

This being Evan Engram though, you know there will be (and already are) up and downs in his production as that's been the case for his whole NFL career. Just this season, Engram has gone from (rounding to the nearest integer) 7 to 12 to 4 to 3 to finally 13 PPR points through five weeks of play. Talk about bouncy production.

Of course, and given the state of affairs at the tight-end position, having 37.8 total FP over this span has been enough for Engram to rank as the TE15 overall. And even with all of the variability in his outcomes, the truth is that only three other tight ends (Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert, and Tyler Higbee) above him in the ranks have been less volatile on a weekly basis.

Engram has seen the 12th-most targets to TEs so far this season while he's also appeared on 73% of all offensive snaps played by the Jaguars, another top-15 mark among tight ends through Week 5. Not quite a weekly, set-it-and-forget-it 12-team-league starter, but surely one for those streaming the position in such leagues and a must-start in any deeper format.
