ANALYSIS: It has taken some time, but the Trevor Lawrence Experience is starting to kick into high gear, folks. The main beneficiary, at least for now, has been TE Evan Engram who has scored three touchdowns in the past two weeks and is coming off the second-best performance by a tight end in the 2022 season through Week 14.
You read that right: Engram's W14 effort for 39.2 PPR points ranks second in the season-leaderboard of fantasy points scored by a tight end in a single game, just 0.7 FP shy of the first place. It's the second time this season a TE leads a slate in fantasy points.
Engram reached that point of excellence thanks to catching 11-of-15 targets for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns on Sunday at Tennessee. It's now back-to-back games for Engram finding paydirt after he went 5-of-7 for 30 yards and 1 TD in Week 13.
Even though he still has a rather large mob of haters chasing him these days, Evan Engram has always been a nice fantasy TE since he entered the league back in 2017. Maybe folks out there just need to adjust how they treat expectations.
Engram's 133.8 PPR points through Week 14 are already more than the FP he reached in three of his five seasons in New York and he's one or two games away from having his best campaign since his rookie year (TE5 that season).
The volume is insane, Lawrence is trusting Engram as the no. 1 weapon on the Jaguars offense, and although the production is logically unsustainable, you can still expect a 5-catch, 40-yard line weekly going forward without much hesitation. That's already 9.0 PPR points and high-end TE2 levels of play for Engram's floor.
