EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview
Burnley vs Brighton
While these two teams both site 8-10 points clear of the relegation zone currently, they are by no means safe just yet. This is going to be an important - and winnable - game for both teams. Brighton (+115) come into this game as slight road favorites after taking down Tottenham and Liverpool in back-to-back 1-0 games. Burnley are coming off two straight losses to Chelsea and Manchester City, however, they just pulled off wins against Liverpool and Aston Villa right before that. This should be a fairly even game, but it is not expected to be high-scoring. The goal total over/under is only 2.0.
Newcastle vs Southampton
It is astonishing that a team like Southampton has lost 9-0 in consecutive seasons. Last year it was Leicester. This year it was Manchester United. Southampton (+145) have been by no means bad this year at all, but they have lost four straight league games now conceding 15 times and scoring just once. They are very small road favorites here against a Newcastle team that has essentially just as bad recently. It's anyone's guess what will happen in this game the way these two teams are playing. The goal total over/under is 2.5.
Fulham vs West Ham
Times are getting desperate for Fulham as they fall farther and farther away from retaining a spot in the PL next season. Meanwhile, West Ham (+110) sit just two points shy of a Champions League spot for next year. They will be hungry and motivated to take down a weak Fulham side on Saturday. West Ham are the slate's second-largest favorite and should be treated as so. The goal total over/under is 2.5.
Manchester United vs Everton
Manchester United (-190) must hope that someone slows down Manchester City or else they won't have much of a chance at catching their rivals in the race for the title. They're coming off an explosive 9-0 win against Southampton and host Everton on Saturday. Everton have been pretty mediocre recently, and they'll be the slate's largest underdog against a Manchester United team whose value might be a touch inflated by the oddsmakers. The goal total over/under is a slate-high 3.0.
FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders
Michail Antonio ($20) is one of my favorite plays on Saturday. He is averaging 20.6 fantasy points in six games in 2021 with two goals. He has shown fantasy owners a nice floor in that stretch as well with his shots on goal, chances created, and assists. West Ham as a team have not had an issue scoring away from home this year, and they should be able to net a couple on a Fulham defense that just allowed two to Leicester and West Brom. Antonio has +150 scoring odds here.
Love it or hate it, Jesse Lingard ($14) deserves a mention here. He rose from the dead in his West Ham debut with a brace and 52.3 fantasy points. We've seen Lingard run hot with Manchester United a couple of seasons ago. He's a solid mid-tier play on this slate. Said Benrahma ($9) is too cheap for his goal upside and is one of the nicer value attackers on this slate.
Sure, Danny Ings ($19) is in a little goal drought right now, but Newcastle's defense isn't worth squat even at home where they allow 1.73 goals per game. Ings and company have not been able to get anything going in the attack recently, but they have a great matchup to end their skid here. Ings is -110 to score on Saturday, and he likely will not be high owned either. James Ward-Prowse ($18) is a viable second Southampton guy. In a matchup like this, you can get him and Ings at low ownership in GPPs. JWP can also be used as a one-off who has fantasy value even when he does not score with his chances created and other peripherals. Takumi Minamino ($13) just transferred to Southampton from Liverpool, and he could be getting in the starting lineup right away. He immediately goes into my player pool if he does with his attacking ability against this Newcastle defense.
Callum Wilson ($16) has a nice matchup against a Southampton defense that has been porous lately. He has nice upside in this game.
Pascal Gross ($13) is relatively cheap and has a nice floor in this game. Brighton will be pressing Burnley's defense as they sit deep. Gross should be able to create some chances and add in a few defensive stats giving him a good floor. He always comes with assist upside as well.
FanDuel DFS Defenders
The attacking value is minimal on this slate, so let's start with some value at defense.
Kayne Ramsay ($5) got his first start with Southampton's first team since 2018 and produced well with 10.4 fantasy points. He's still minimum price in a decent matchup against Newcastle. There's no reason to avoid him if you're looking to spend big on attackers.
Matt Ritchie ($7) won't get a ton of defensive peripherals, but he is good for 2-3 chances created per game. He has a nice matchup here against a Southampton defense that is reeling off a 9-0 loss. Ritchie is averaging 11.1 fantasy points in his seven starts this year which is really strong considering this low price tag and this matchup.
Defenders against Burnley is always a solid matchup. Ben White ($8) is the cheapest, and he's a good value play. Lewis Dunk ($14) has been accumulating good defensive stats and should fare very well in this matchup. He's a bit pricey for a defender with minimal attacking upside, but he is a good play regardless.
For some more attacking upside, I like Vladimir Coufal ($13). He's been bright for West Ham along the flank all season. He has 10 straight double digit games with 6/10 being 15+ point games. He has a strong floor as always and a high ceiling with a great matchup on Saturday.
FanDuel DFS Goalkeepers
Brighton and Robert Sanchez ($11) have kept four straight clean sheets now including to Tottenham and Liverpool. They have a super low-scoring Burnley team who have mustered just 13 goals in 21 league games. It's possible lots of people notice this matchup and Sanchez becomes one of the higher-owned GKs, however, I do not think his ownership will reach that high of a mark with several other viable keepers.
Lukasz Fabianski ($12) is one of my favorite GK plays on Saturday. West Ham's defense has been steady all season long, and they're facing a Fulham team that has scored less than one goal per game this year in the PL. Fabianski is a really good bet for a clean sheet and will probably get both bonuses.
