EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview
Newcastle vs Norwich
The first game to kick off on Tuesday features the two teams at the bottom of the table. Newcastle (-105) host Norwich in what is probably - to date - their best opportunity at their first win of the season. Both teams have been very poor this season, but Norwich have been better recently with two wins and a draw in their last three. This is a game we would normally not prioritize much on a full slate, but it could be an interesting way to get some GPP plays on this slate. The goal total over/under is 2.5 with the over at -115 which is higher than the later game.
Leeds vs Crystal Palace
The second game on Tuesday has another bottom-five team in Leeds (+140) hosting Crystal Palace. Both clubs are coming off disappointing results a few days ago. Leeds have been one of the bigger letdowns so far this season with just two wins in 13 tries. Palace haven't been great either in their last two games. The goal total over/under is 2.5.
FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders
One of the first places I'm going to look for attackers on this slate is Crystal Palace. They have a top-notch matchup against Leeds who area allowing the third-most shots on goal and the fifth-most chances created. Their defense has been slightly better recently, but they are still conceding 1.54 goals per game as well. I'll be high on Conor Gallagher ($19) in this matchup from both a ceiling (+320 to score) and floor standpoint. Christian Benteke ($18) has been scoring goals at a decent rate this year and can boost his floor with shots on goal. He's the most likely anytime goal scorer in the game. Edouard Odsonne ($15) is a nice cheaper play if he cracks the starting lineup.
This is the first time Teemu Pukki ($17) will be in my player pool this year. He had two goals in his last three games as well as five shots on goal in that span. He also gets an incredible matchup against the league's new worst defense in Newcastle. They're allowing 2.23 goals per game and are still without a handful of starters on their backline. He has the second best anytime scoring odds on this small slate at +180. Milot Raschia ($14) and Josh Sargent ($10) are two nice value plays to pair with Pukki in this matchup.
Callum Wilson ($20) has the best anytime scoring odds on the slate at +110. He's expensive, but he does also nice a very nice matchup at home againts Norwich's bad defense. They have been better over the last few games, but allowing 2.08 goals per game is still atrocious. He has four goals this year but none since October 23rd which might be a reason to fade. Allan Saint-Maximin ($19) is a strong pivot off Wilson, and Jonjo Shelvey ($11) is underpriced for this matchup and his role on the team.
Palace's defense was playing well until they have up five goals in their last two games. Maybe we can finally see Leeds break out at home. Raphina ($21) is generally a good play although he is not in the greatest form, he's expensive, and Leeds just isn't all that good right now. I'd rather take Rodrigo ($18) or Stuart Dallas ($13) for less money.
FanDuel DFS Defenders
Crystal Palace defenders have the best matchup on the slate with Leeds allowing the most combined defensive action out of the four teams. Joel Ward ($10) and James Tompkins ($8) are my two favorites for the price. Marc Guehi ($12) has been good too, but his price is a little inflated with goals in consecutive games.
Liam Cooper ($11) is another defender in my player pool. I'm essentially staying away from anyone in the Norwich/Newcastle game. Neither team allow many defensive stats and no defenders on either team are really that fantasy-friendly.
FanDuel DFS Goalkeepers
The GK position is as much of a mess as DEF on this slate. A lot of decisions here should be made based on how you built the rest of your lineup. Crystal Palace has the best defense on the slate which makes me interested in Vicente Guaita ($9). It's unfortunate that Palace has been shaky defensively recently and he's playing on the road, though.
Thanks for reading my EPL DFS lineup picks breakdown on RotoBaller and good luck!
