Welcome back, RotoBallers! Finally, we see the return of the English Premier League. A competition that I know a lot about, in fact here across the pond we just call it the Premier League!
In this article, I will be providing you with my English Premier League daily fantasy soccer lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/24/20 for the slate that locks at 2:00 pm ET. Be sure to also check out our other DFS lineup picks for other active sports.
The DraftKings DFS slate is for three games, and below I'll give a quick preview of each of them (so you know what to expect) and then move onto some names to consider for your lineups. If you aren't familiar with how players score in soccer on DraftKings take a look at their scoring methodology. And to submit a lineup you need to select 1 Goalkeeper, 2 Defenders, 2 Midfielders, 2 Forwards, and a Utility player (most likely a Midfielder/ Forward). You can always find me on Twitter @RichKingFF if you have any questions. Good luck RotoBallers!

English Premier League DFS Lineup Picks - Overview
Manchester United v Sheffield United
Sheffield United have not been great at scoring since the league restarted, which is obviously an issue if they are going to get anything from this game.
Manchester United should win this game, they played well enough in their draw to Tottenham, and have quality players across the field.
Newcastle v Aston Villa
Newcastle have done well this season, with a solid defense giving the team a great foundation and platform to get a result. Newcastle are now mathematically safe from the drop and will be looking to pile on the misery in this game for Aston Villa.
Aston Villa need to have a win if they are going to start their climb up the table from the relegation zone, but lack the attacking threat to break down Newcastle's defense.
Norwich v Everton
Norwich could be in for a long day in this matchup. Norwich look so open in defense, with a number of starting players missing through injury. However, the team looks so exploitable.
Everton on the other hand, looked organized and solid in their game against Liverpool where they were able to keep the league leaders from scoring.
Wolves v Bournemouth
This screams a home victory. Bournemouth concede goals and look like they aren't going to score in the games they have played. I can't see Bournemouth getting anything from this game.
DraftKings DFS Midfielders / Forwards
You'll see as we go through the slate that there are lots of players that have dual eligibility to be in your midfield or forward slot. Here you are looking for players that are constant scoring threats, as well as players that get involved in wide areas where they can put in crosses.
The obvious person to select is Raul Jimenez ($10,500). Bournemouth has a leaky defense, and Wolves have a potent attack. That should mean that there is a big-game in store for the player that can't fail to score. Equally, you could opt for Adama Traore ($9,200) or Diogo Jota ($7,900) who could have the big game instead. If you are playing multiple lineups, then mix in all three of them.
In the Newcastle and Everton game, there are a few players that I'm looking at. For Newcastle, I'd be happy to mix in any of Matt Richie ($8,000), Allan Saint-Maximin ($7,000), or Miguel Almiron ($6,400). Richie was a great play in his last outing, with his involvement in all facets of the game meaning he has a safe floor and a great ceiling if things go his way. The other two players aren't as reliable, but they have been getting into the right areas of the field and could get on the scoresheet for their matchup.
Elsewhere you could slot in John Fleck ($6,200) for Sheffield United. Fleck pulls the strings for the team and offers decent value for owners this week. In looking at the slate options for Manchester United, I found myself going back and forth to include them or not. Ultimately, I've opted against it as there isn't a single player that stands out to me as a value. That being said, I wouldn't be overly surprised if Marcus Rashford ($9,500) or Paul Pogba ($6,100) have big games. If you can fit him in your lineup then Bruno Fernandes ($11,300) has been in sizzling form and could have another impressive game, but his salary might make it tough to fit him in.
For Everton, I'd happily slot in Richarlison ($7,600) he is heavily involved in the attacking phases for his team and looked good against Liverpool. Lastly, I'd consider Teemu Pukki ($6,600) he started the season out strong, but has struggled in recent weeks. With Norwich needing wins, they will look to him to convert a chance in the game to get the result they desperately need.
DraftKings DFS Defenders
Defenders are where it starts to get interesting. In an ideal world, you want a defender who has a good chance of keeping a clean sheet while getting involved in attacking play. This slate doesn't have a team that looks like it will have a good chance to keep a clean sheet, so it's a case of looking at wing-backs.
As with previous slates, we are targetting players that get forward and put in crosses. Jonny ($5,500) for Wolves is a great option, combining a lower salary than some of the other premier selections, he has a great chance of keeping a clean sheet against Bournemouth and gets forward often. Slightly cheaper, but in the same range, is Matt Targett ($5,300) simply Aston Villa need to start picking up wins, and so they are going to be looking to attack from the back. If that's the case Targett could be in-line for a big game.
A slightly cheaper option is Danny Rose ($4,100) who is an effective part of the Newcastle attack, even as a defender. Expect a number of crosses and runs forward, Rose has scored some spectacular goals in his career and could do so again (although I wouldn't bank on it).
If you are needing some bargain basement players you could opt for Federico Fernandez ($3,600) or Tyronne Mings ($2,600). Fernandez has a chance at keeping a clean sheet for the team, while Mings does get forward for the team. Mings is a real hail-mary type of play though, as Bournemouth are likely to concede at least one goal in their matchup.
DraftKings DFS Goalkeepers
Goalkeeper for this slate feels a bit, meh. So I'm just looking for whoever I can afford at the position. Jordan Pickford ($5,300) would be my selection if I can fit him in my team, but I'm happy to look at other options. Martin Dubravka ($5,000) and Orjon Nyland ($4,500) are slightly cheaper and still have a decent chance of keeping a clean sheet for the slate. But really, there isn't a player that I particularly think I have to add- so whoever you can grab!
And that's it! Any questions, you know where to find me otherwise Good Luck RotoBallers.
