Welcome back to “The Kick-Off” and welcome to the 23-24 season! Finally, a new season is here and we can welcome back our beloved Futbol. Many clubs have made big moves this offseason to help bolster their cup chances and chances of getting a European spot for next season. Will we see a new title winner this season or will Liverpool and Manchester City continue to battle it out for the top spot?

The top favorite this weekend is Tottenham Hotspurs -400 vs Sheffield United +1000. I will guide you through this five-match slate starting at 10:00 A.M. EST.

EPL DFS Goalies

Goalies

Guglielmo Vicario - DK $5.9K || FD $13

Opponent - Sheffield United

Looks like the Spurs may have found a new goalie who they can actually rely on. Despite Vicario having a ‘moderately easy’ schedule so far to start the season – Brentford, Manchester United, Bournemouth and Burnley –, he has made 16 saves, conceded 4 goals and recorded 2 clean sheets. Sheffield United is not the worst team in the league, but they are indeed playing with fire. The Blades are tied for the fourth-worst Goals For Per 90 – 1 – and they are the third-worst in Shots For Per 90 – 8.5 –. This does make Vicario a bit more of a risk with his slate-high salary. If he concedes even once, his value is completely gone. However, the chances of Sheffield scoring against Tottenham are slim as Vicario holds the best chance for a clean sheet. Coming in as the highest-salaried keeper, Vicario has yet to prove he isn’t worth it.

EPL DFS Forwards

Raul Jimenez - DK $4.4K || FD $17

Opponent - Luton Town

There are a few ‘LOCKS’ of the slate and this happens to be the first of many. Jimenez is set for a potential big outing at home against the Hatters. Luton Town are far from being the worst clue in the league, however, they are conceding the third-most Goals Against Per 90 – 3 –. For someone who has had a knack for scoring goals in the past, Jimenez has yet to score his first goal in a Cottagers kit. In four domestic appearances, he has 7 shots, 3 created chances, 1 cross, 5 tackles, 6 clearances and 2 blocks.

EPL DFS Midfielders

Andreas Pereira - DK $5.1K || FD $15

Opponent - Luton Town

Next up to the penalty mark is Andreas Pereira. The attacking midfielder is just starting to scratch the surface in his second campaign with Fulham. Through his first four domestic matches this season – 3 starts –, he has 1 goal, 2 shots, 3 created chances, 16 crosses, 11 corners and 2 clearances. As mentioned, Luton Town is not terrible, but they are on the verge of falling off the rails quickly, conceding 3 Goals Against Per 90. With many big names on the slate – hint hint, Manchester City –, the ‘inexpensive’ Fulham stacks are going to be the chalk of the slate and Pereira will be at the center.

Antonee Robinson - DK $3.9K || FD $11

Opponent - Luton Town

To finish things off, welcome Antonee Robinson to the pitch. The wingback for the Cottagers is for some reason under $4K salary on DraftKings. In his first four domestic starts this season, he has 1 created chance, 9 crosses, 9 tackles, 1 interception and 11 clearances. His peripherals are not the best considering his role at the club, however, there is a lot of room for him to grow. Considering the number of goals Luton Town has conceded in three matches this season and the amount of time Robinson is spent assisting the attack, there will be plenty of chances for him to make his mark here.
