The Kick-Off - EPL Matchweek 27
Goalies
Fraser Forster- DK $5.8K || FD $12
Opponent - Nottingham Forest
Unfortunately this weekend we must rely on Forster to play an average or better game in the net. The netminder has not been the most consistent player of his career and he has taken the mantle with Hugo Lloris out with an injury. In Forster’s last five games, he has won twice while conceding 7 goals – four notably against Leicester –. Luckily, Nottingham Forest is one of the worst clubs in the Premier League when playing away – they have scored just three goals –. There are a few other options on the slate, however, Forster has the best chances of a win and a clean sheet and he should see a fair bit of ownership because of it.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Steele (DK $5.3K || FD $12), Arrizabalaga (DK $5.2K || FD $11)
Forwards
Harry Kane-DK $9.7K || FD $22
Opponent - Nottingham Forest
Continuing the onslaught of Nottingham Forest we will feature the frontman of the Spurs, Harry Kane. In Kane’s last five appearances in domestic play, he has 1 goal, 1 assist, 13 shots, 4 created chances, 3 crosses and 2 tackles. It is no surprise that the striker’s production is trending toward his worst season with the club, however, the Spurs have gotten Dejan Kulusevski back in the mix which should help tenfold. Furthermore, not only is Nottingham Forest notoriously bad at scoring goals while away, but their defense is just as bad, tied for the second-most goals conceded away with 29 in 12 matches. Like his goalie, Fraser Forster, Harry Kane should see a mass amount of ownership on this slate.
Evan Ferguson- DK $6.8K || FD $18
Opponent - Brighton & Hove Albion
Outside of Spurs players, the slate gets rather murky with Brighton and Chelsea both playing away despite having optimal matchups. Due to the poor form, Chelsea is in, we will swing toward Brighton. Ferguson is expected to make his third start in a row this weekend and in his last five games in domestic play – 3 starts –, he has 1 goal, 1 assist, 10 shots, 2 created chances and 3 tackles. Leeds United are not a terrible defense, however, they still remain the fourth-worst club in Goals Against Per 90 – 1.69 –. Leeds is struggling to cover the flanks and that is where Brighton thrives, Ferguson should see plenty of chances coming from crosses here.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Son (DK $8.5K || FD $20K), Felix (DK $6.8K || FD $19)
Midfielders
James Maddison- DK $8.7K || FD $19
Opponent - Chelsea
Albeit, Maddison playing Chelsea this weekend, Maddison is by far one of the best options at midfield. He has the largest majority share of set-pieces out of all of the teams this weekend and Leicester are playing much better with Maddison back in the lineup. Through his last five matches in domestic play – four starts –, he has 2 goals, 1 assist, 13 shots, 11 created chances, 14 crosses, 8 corners and 4 tackles. If Leicester pulls off a win this weekend, Maddison will be at the heart of it.
Dejan Kulusevski- DK $6.7K || FD $18
Opponent - Nottingham Forest
Kulusevski could become one of the highest-owned pieces of the Spurs stack this weekend due to his salary and his heightened role over the past few matches. In his last five fixtures in domestic play, he has 7 shots, 9 created chances, 21 crosses, 9 corners, 10 tackles and 4 interceptions. The most interesting part of that run of form is his role on set-pieces. He would become the ‘least-expensive’ set-piece taker on the slate in a prime matchup. Nottingham’s defense was aforementioned above, this could be a blowup game for Kulusevski.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): McNeil (DK $8.4K || FD $13), Mitoma (DK $7.3K || FD $17)
Defense
Ben Chilwell- DK $6.5K || FD $10
Opponent - Leicester City
Chilwell will undoubtedly be one of the highest-owned players on the slate this weekend in ‘CASH’ contest and will be the highest-owned player at defense. The wingback will be the main transition player for Chelsea this weekend with teammate Reece James out with an illness. Through Chilwell’s last five matches in domestic play, he has 1 assist, 7 shots, 8 created chances, 30 crosses, 14 corners, 9 tackles, 6 interceptions, 8 clearances and 2 blocks. That is a major stat line, especially for someone that is under $7K on DraftKings. Leicester City is in the bottom half of the league in Goals Against Per 90, Shots Against Per 90, Crosses Against Per 90 and Chances Against Per 90, all of which Chilwell can do.
Felipe- DK $3.1K || FD $13
Opponent - Tottenham Hotspurs
Felipe is the heartbeat of the Forest defense, albeit being one of the worst defenses in the entire top flight. Nevertheless, the center-back fills the stat sheet game in and game out and he has been a huge difference-maker since being acquired by Nottingham. In his first four appearances in domestic play – 3 starts –, he has 2 shots, 7 tackles, 14 interceptions, 26 clearances and 3 blocks. He will undoubtedly be busy this weekend with the likes of Harry Kane, Son and Dejan Kulusevski attacking him all match. Felipe makes for a strong play on FanDuel thanks to their friendly defense metric scoring.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Porro (DK $5.5K || FD $10), Wober (DK $3.4K || FD $11)
Corner Takers:
Everton: McNeil/Gray
Brentford: Jensen/Mbuemo
Leeds United: Harrison/Roca
Brighton & Hove Albion: Gross/March
Leicester City: Maddison
Chelsea: Felix/Chilwell
Tottenham: Perisic/Son/Kulusevski
Nottingham Forest: Gibbs-White
