Week 3 English Premier League Saturday Predictions and Fantasy Advice

Week 3 of the EPL and the closure of the transfer window looms ever closer for those clubs who feel the need to strengthen their squads for the coming months.

Chelsea have already secured the signing of Pedro from Barcelona and Manchester City have acquired Nicolas Otamendi  from Valencia.  Ironically, both were targets for Manchester United.

One club that certainly needs new blood is Tottenham Hotspur and the north London club is, currently, strongly linked to Saido Berahino.  Everton are pursuing Andriy Yarmolenko from Dynamo Kiev, a very talented forward and someone who Tottenham have also been linked with in the past.

However, we expect West Bromwich Albion to do lots of business in the next week. Federico Fazio  seems destined to arrive from Tottenham whilst Matt Phillips and Charlie Austin, from QPR, might also be on their radar as well as more defensive cover at full back.

Here is what Saturday offers us:

Manchester United v Newcastle United

The Red Devils will be boosted by their win in Europe and should take the three points

Prediction: Manchester United 2  Newcastle United 1

Star Performer - Chris Smalling is growing in confidence.  Expect a set piece goal soon.

Crystal Palace v Aston Villa

A lively encounter and Palace to get back on track after their home defeat by Arsenal

Prediction: Crystal Palace 3  Aston Villa 2

Star Performer :  Wilfrid Zaha showed signs last week that he is coming into form.

Leicester v Tottenham

The surprise package of Leicester will be a tough test for Tottenham who need a victory after last week's late collapse.  We are confident that Harry Kane won't find himself on the bench this week, if they are holding any advantage over their oponents.

Prediction: Leicester 0  Tottenham 1

Star Performer : Harry Kane to snatch the only goal.....?

Norwich v Stoke City

Two sides with every reason to be positive after last week.  Stoke will be especially confident and with Xherdan Shaqiri set to make his first start for the Potters, expect an away win.

Prediction: Norwich 0  Stoke City 2

Star Performers :  The Stoke City midfield expect them to overwhelm Norwich and as a result win the match

Sunderland v Swansea City

Sunderland need a reaction to last week's home defeat.  We are not so sure it will be forthcoming.  Swansea are in fine form currently and will have too much possession and too much guile for the Black Cats.

Prediction: Sunderland 1  Swansea City 3

Star Performer: Jefferson Montero.  He has been sensational so far and expect many more assists.

West Ham United v AFC Bournemouth

This should be an entertaining fare and Bournemouth will be very much hoping that their luck changes after some poor refereeing decisions cost them at least 1 point at Anfield on Monday evening.  They played some marvelous progressive football and it will just take the 1 goal to kick start their campaign.  West Ham are without goalkeeper Adrian suspended for three matches following his red card last week.

Prediction: West Ham United 1  Bournemouth 2

Star Performer: Callum Wilson
