ANALYSIS: By nearly every measure, 2022 has been a rough year for New York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore.
After a promising rookie campaign in 2021, Moore has been ineffective on the field and frustrated off it this season. He had failed to catch a TD or record more than 55 receiving yards in a game through Week 5, which resulted in the Ole Miss alum requesting a trade from the Jets.
New York refused to grant Moore's trade request but did bench him for a time. However, the 22-year-old has now returned to the lineup and logged his best performance of 2022 in Week 12.
With Mike White at the helm of Gang Green's offense, Moore recorded a season-high 64 receiving yards and also scored his first TD of 2022. White's performance in Week 12's victory over Chicago should keep Zach Wilson on the bench for the time being. This is an addition-by-subtraction situation for Moore and the entire Jets receiving corps. With Wilson out of the lineup for the foreseeable future, the talented Moore's arrow is pointing up and he can be considered a FLEX option in 12+ team fantasy leagues.
