ANALYSIS: In Week 6, before the Bears' bye week, veteran wideout Eddie Royal looked spry and fully recovered from an ankle sprain that had him "questionable" all week. He caught five of seven targets for 49 yards as Bears quarterback Jay Cutler continued to show great trust in Royal on screens and short crosses. The return of No. 1 WR Alshon Jeffery took pressure off Royal, but he's still better suited as an inside slot receiver.
Royal has one score on the year, has not topped 54 yards in any game, and is averaging just 7.3 yards per catch. An argument could be made that Royal is now the fifth option in the Bears' passing attack going forward behind Jeffery, Martellus Bennett, Marquess Wilson and Matt Forte. And should top rookie Kevin White return from the PUP in late November, Royal could fall further down the pecking order.
In deep leagues, Royal might be worth an emergency stash. He'd be a spot-start option in games where the Bears are likely to be playing from behind. But with the Bears' receiving corps finally getting healthy around him, there are likely weapons out there with a higher ceiling than Royal.
