Eddie Lacy / Thomas Rawls (RB, SEA) - Week 5 Waiver Wire

NFL running backs Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls are Week 5 fantasy football waiver wire pickups and adds. Target them as RBs to add off the waiver wire.

BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues

OWNED IN: 17% / 29% of leagues

ANALYSIS: Dynamic rookie Chris Carson fractured his leg Sunday night and will likely miss most, if not all, of the year. Seattle's backfield has turned from bad to worse. Rawls and Lacy figure to share early-down work now, with CJ Prosise and JD McKissic battling for scraps in the passing game.

With Rawls a healthy inactive in Week 4, Lacy had 11 carries for a team-high 52 yards against the Colts. While Lacy would figure to be the better waiver pickup at this point based on last week's production, head coach Pete Carroll practically came out and admitted that Thomas Rawls will be the first choice going forward.

Rawls' inactivity is more a case of rest to make sure he's 100% healthy, which may pay off now that Carson is out indefinitely. Lacy rolled up 52 yards last night, but that was in a blowout victory against a helpless Colts team. It's a tough situation to predict, and one that only desperate fantasy owners should navigate.

Seattle gets the Rams next week, which is a great opportunity for one of these backs to get going. After that, you're looking at a bye and then the Giants and Texans. You may be better off staying away from this situation for the next couple of weeks if possible, unless you are hurting the running back position.
