Early DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football (10/28/23)

Caleb Williams - Fantasy Football Rankings, College FB, NFL Rookies, Draft Sleepers

The last great college football season rolls into Week 9 this week. We have our normal dozen games on tap on the main slate. The nooners feature Oklahoma in Lawrence. I was going to go, but it's going to be way too cold for me. Florida State heads up to Winston-Salem to take on Wake. Houston is in the little Apple after scaring Texas. The Mountaineers head down to Orlando to take on UCF. The Gamecocks (the bad ones) are in Aggleland. Indiana heads to Happy Valley to close out the openers.

We start the afternoon in Louisville with Duke in town and both teams missing key pieces. Pitt heads to South Bend to get spanked by the Irish. BYU heads down to Austin to take on Texas. Oregon is in Salt Lake City to take on the Utes. It's the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in Jacksonville. We close this out with USC in Berkeley to take on Cal.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/28/23, locking at noon Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Caleb Williams, USC ($10,500)

The numbers don't lie and Williams puts up huge numbers against inferior teams. The tough defenses of USC and Notre Dame derailed his Heisman campaign. I expect Williams to put up the numbers in this game that gets him back in the discussion. There's going to be no mercy in Berkeley.

Donovan Smith, Houston ($7,900)

Smith has 100.74 DraftKings points in the last three games against Texas Tech, West Virginia, and Texas. No, I'm not scared of the matchup in the Little Apple. Smith has 11 touchdowns in three games against good opponents. His price feels really low for what he has been doing on the field. I'll happily take him in any lineup for this price.

John Rhys Plumlee, Central Florida ($7,200)

I don't usually target West Virginia, but the price is right on John Rhys. Plumlee looked like his normal self in Norman last week, racking up 23.52 DraftKings points against a good Oklahoma defense. If he can net that against the Sooners, he should be even better against the Mountaineers at home in Orlando this week. Use him before the price gets out of control again.

Also consider: Dillon Gabriel, Oklahoma ($9,400); Garrett Greene, West Virginia (8,100); Avery Johnson, Kansas State ($7,700); Kedon Slovis, BYU ($6,600); Max Johnson, Texas A&M ($6,500)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Jaydn Ott, California ($7,700)

It's not a stretch to say that Ott is the best running back in the Pac-12. If you don't believe that, you haven't watched him play yet. The guy is electric with the ball in his hands. Utah and Oregon State bottled him up, but Ott still put up 28.6 DraftKings points in those two games. I will be absolutely shocked if Ott doesn't hit 20 against this defense.

DJ Giddens, Kansas State ($6,500)

Kansas State isn't just rotating their quarterbacks, they are rotating the running backs too. Treshaun Ward is still the "starter," but Giddens still picked up 11 touches. Two of those found the end zone last week against TCU. This is a risk with Ward around, but K-State is sustaining the fantasy value for every piece thus far. That should continue against Houston.

Le'Veon Moss, Texas A&M ($5,200)

Max Johnson has been the game manager and he can run a little. I think the Aggies are going to run a lot on South Carolina. The Gamecocks have had issues stopping the run all season long. Just look at what Cody Schrader did to them last week. Amari Daniels will get a handful of carries, but I trust the volume of Moss here. He's really cheap for the workload he might get.

Also consider: Jonathon Brooks, Texas ($7,500); CJ Donaldson, West Virginia ($6,100); Marcus Major, Oklahoma ($4,900); Isaac Guerendo, Louisville ($4,800); Demond Claiborne, Wake Forest ($4,800)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Xavier Worthy, Texas ($6,800)

Worthy has 21 receptions over the last three games alone. I do have questions about the quarterback position with Quinn Ewers out. Arch Manning isn't starting, but I'll like this a lot more if he plays. Worthy is the possession guy and should put up another good game regardless of who is throwing him the ball. He doesn't have the ceiling of many in front of him, but Worthy should have the volume.

Javon Baker, Central Florida ($5,900)

Baker is scary good with the ball in his hands. He's a track star that can outrun the defensive backs on just about any team. He even got deep on an Oklahoma defense that has been excellent. Baker has 332 yards in the last three games on just 12 receptions. That's 28 yards per reception. I'll ride that in GPPs all day long.

Nic Anderson, Oklahoma ($5,800)

All Anderson does is catch touchdowns. Well, until he caught five passes last week. Anderson has eight touchdowns on 14 receptions in the last five games. The price is a bit off-putting if he doesn't manage to find the end zone, but if I'm being honest, I'd bet his touchdown prop too. This is going to be a high-scoring game in Lawrence. I'll be shocked if Anderson isn't involved.

Eugene Wilson III, Florida ($4,900)

Ricky Pearsall gets all the attention in the media and from opposing defenses as well. That has often left Wilson in single-coverage situations and he has taken advantage. Wilson has 20 receptions in the last three games alone. Graham Mertz trusts him. That's good enough for me!

Also consider: Troy Franklin, Oregon ($8,300); Keon Coleman, Florida State ($7,000); Brenden Rice, USC ($6,400); Matthew Golden, Houston ($6,500); Drake Stoops, Oklahoma ($6,200); Evan Stewart, Texas A&M ($5,800); Ja'Tavion Sanders, Texas ($4,800)

DraftKings CFB Stacks:

Houston

Donovan Smith makes this offense different. Kansas State rode their defense as much as their offense last year, but the defense has holes this year. The K-State run defense is still good, so I'm not using a back. However, I don't mind using three receivers with Smith. With Smith and Golden very affordable, it's not hard to add in Joseph Manjack and Samuel Brown for a full stack.

Texas A&M

This might be the only time that I ever run a stack without including the quarterback. Evan Stewart, Ainias Smith, and Noah Thomas are all super cheap. So is Le'Veon Moss. They are cheap enough that you can run all four with a USC mini stack. That's about the only way to get to any kind of USC stack.

Also consider: Central Florida, Oklahoma, USC
