In last year's games against teams that finished in the middle third of the league in points allowed, Detroit averaged 21.38 points per game and an average of 317.88 yards.

This season, Detroit is looking to improve their ability to maintain offensive possession, as they were near the bottom of the league in time of possession per game. The team won the time of possession battle in 4 of last season's games.

Heading into the game, quarterback Jared Goff enters his 7th Season of his career. Last season, Goff started 14 games for the Lions. In terms of production, he threw for a total of 3,245 yards, placing him 20th in the league.
