According to Fox Sports' Alex Marvez, Philadelphia Eagles kicker Cody Parkey re-aggravated a groin injury against the New York Jets on Sunday. The injury must be serious enough to keep him off of the field for a little while, because the Eagles have brought in several kickers for tryouts. Parkey is scheduled to have an MRI later today.
The Eagles already have workouts setup with Nick Novak, Caleb Sturgis, Kai Forbath, Shayne Graham, Carey Spear and Billy Cundiff. It's hard to imagine Eagles' coach Chip Kelly bringing in so many kickers if Parkey's injury was expected to be minor. Although this is pure speculation, it would seem as if Parkey is expected to miss several weeks. However, we will know much more when the MRI results come in later today.
Parkey is owned in the majority of fantasy football leagues. Whoever the Eagles eventually sign to replace him would be a worthy replacement on fantasy rosters as well. Other viable waiver wire replacements include Steelers' Josh Scobee, Panthers' Graham Gano and Bears' Robbie Gould.
