BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 19% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Dylan Covey will surprise you when you look at his game log, especially after his struggles last season. This season, Covey has allowed two earned runs, or less, in five consecutive starts and he has tallied at least five strikeouts in four of those contests.
A 2.29 ERA looks very nice and a 2.15 FIP in 35 1/3 innings shows that he has not been particularly lucky (illustrated by his 71.7% strand rate). A 61% ground ball rate will help Covey keep his ERA low, even if his 29.5% hard hit ball rate is not all that good.
Cleveland seems to be the tougher opponent on his docket for Week 12, he will also face the Athletics, and Covey has already faced them twice this year. He is a combined 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA and eight strikeouts in 11 1/3 innings of work. Those are not terrible numbers for a streamer, particularly against a team that is known for its lineup. As for opponent No. 2, the Athletics are seventh in team strikeouts (622) this season.
