BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 53% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Five games. That's the count. That's the count of matches D-Rob hasn't started (while he played, I mean) for the Heat this season, and it only happened in a 10-day span in which he was coming off a week-long absence. Robinson is logging 28 MPG on the year and only a slightly lower 26 MPG from Jan. 17 on (the first time he started after that five-game off-the-pine detour). Not bad for a guy rostered in just about half of Yahoo leagues, is it?
It actually is bad. Say what!? Yep. Robinson is on a clear slump and that's been the case more a whole week starting on the last Saturday of January. Only last Thursday could Robinson regain some of his appeal against the Spurs, because the other three games he played from Jan. 29 on really stank: 0-1-0 shooting zero-percent, 6-5-0-1 at 25%, and 5-0-2 at 16%. Ugh. Then, the Spurs fixed him as D-Rob was good for a more in-line-with-his-season 17-3-3-1 shooting 50% and hitting four treys and all three freebies attempted on the game.
This season, Robinson is averaging a 12-3-1 line in games in which he's played at least 20 minutes (45/50 of them). Of course, playing along with Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, and Bam Adebayo is never going to heal his usage rate (18%), but that also comes with the benefit of allowing Robinson to do what he does best: wait and getting wet from the three-point line. Robinson is hosting exactly 10 FGA per game... of which 8.4 (!) are coming from beyond the three-point arc. Jesus Christ. That's impressive, but even more, is the fact that he's hitting 36% of them for 3.1 3PM per game. Not convinced of that thirty-something percentage? Well, it's seven players at that level while attempting 8+ 3PA a day: Hield, McCollum, FVV, Trent Jr., Steph, and Ant Edwards. You get an idea. Also: Duncan barely turns the ball over and comes with good enough rebounding/diming numbers.
