Through 48 innings with Double-A Birmingham this season, the right-hander has posted a 1.50 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and a 14:44 BB:K ratio. Last season, with Birmingham, Thorpe tossed 30 ⅓ innings to the tune of a 1.48 ERA, 0.66 WHIP, and 5:44 BB:K ratio.

While his walk rate has slightly increased from 4.5% last year to 7.8% this season, this should not be serious, as he is still tallying just about one strikeout per inning this season and maintaining a stellar WHIP ratio.
Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on Thorpe as he should be joining Triple-A Charlotte in the coming weeks as he has logged 78 ⅓ total innings at Double-A the past two summers.
A late-season major league debut is possible, but for now, only AL-only managers should look to stash Thorpe.
