BALLER MOVE: Add in NL-Only and Deeper Leagues
ANALYSIS: Stubbs is the definition of a streaming hitter. When the Rockies play on the road, it is best to completely stay away from adding him or starting him for his owners. However, a quick check of Colorado’s schedule for the week and if they're in Denver he could be the x-factor for a win in head-to-head competition or an extra lead in those rotisserie and points leagues. At home, Stubbs is hitting more line drives, less ground balls and he is absolutely destroying the fast ball to every direction of the field which should prevent teams from putting any shift(s) on him. Unfortunately, he is just going to take up roster space when the Rockies are on a road trip- .176 BA, .519 OPS, 37.2% K rate, 3.1% BB rate away splits- so owners in shallow leagues should probably stay away from adding him altogether. And there’s always the big question about Stubbs’ fantasy owners when Colorado’s loaded outfield gets healthy. There’s probably not a baseball expert out there that would bet on Stubbs keeping his starter job when (if) Cuddyer and CarGo come back.
