BALLER MOVE: Draft in Middle Rounds of All Leagues.
ANALYSIS: The Washington Nationals have an imposing team top to bottom. They have the power, the speed and the glory to set the baseball world on fire on offense. The pitching staff has tremendous depth that would rank high on many teams. In their bullpen, Drew Storen is the name to target to get the job done at the end of games for the foreseeable future. Storen showed us a glimmer of his potential posting a stellar 1.12 ERA with 46 K in 56 IP last season. To add to those numbers, he only gave up 7 ER and had a 4:1 K/BB ratio.
Newcomer Casey Janssen presents the only competition for saves this season. However, Janssen's low strikeout totals have been an issue the past few seasons. Storen is also recovering from surgery on his hamate bone, (where the wrist and the outer part of the hand meet) which could cause some worry for fantasy owners.
The Nationals are going to win a lot of games this year and should reach the 90 win mark easily. That should create plenty of save opportunities for Storen. Look forward to 40 saves, a 2.00 ERA with high strikeout and low WHIP totals. With a current average ADP of 133, it makes Storen a nice #1 closer you can draft at a discount from the top guy.
