Drew Lock (QB, DEN) - Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: Has Denver found its franchise quarterback in Drew Lock, once for all? Hard to say, but in my opinion, he's as close as they've gotten as of late. Lock isn't mindblowing, and perhaps his turnover-issues will kill his real-life upside, but he's not--by far--the worst fantasy QB you can have in your roster these days.

It's been a rough season for Lock in the TO department, that's for sure. Lock had thrown 13 interceptions through Week 13, all of them in the W2-W13 span, and in four of those seven games he threw 2+ INTs. On top of that, he's been a master of fumbling with 7 such events happening to him this season.

That's all bad, but Lock has been good at other stuff and made up for some of his errors through the year. Lock just completed his second-best performance of the season this past Sunday against Carolina. He reached 24.6 FP to the tune of 280 yards and 4 (!) touchdowns against no (!) interceptions. He fumbled twice, yes, but you can't have it all for free.

Since Week 8 (included) Lock has played like a top-25 QB in all games he's started with three QB1 finishes. He's been a virtual either-10-or-20 FP quarterback, with three performances below 13 FP and three above 20.

Lock's remaining schedule can't get any better. The Broncos face the 25th-, 21st-, and 22nd-best defenses against fantasy QBs, which means they pretty much have three bottom-third defenses to go against ROS. Lock has a low-end QB2 floor and a high-end QB1 ceiling, but it's a coin flip to know what's coming. Even then, he should be a reasonable WW target for any needy GM in deeper leagues, and those streaming quarterbacks at this point through the season and the playoffs in full swing.
