Drew Brees is officially listed as probable to play on Sunday in the New Orleans Saints Week 4 game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. Dealing with a shoulder injury, Brees missed last week's game against the Carolina Panthers but is likely to return this week as the Saints are in desperation mode looking to avoid to falling to 0-4.
Brees did not look like himself in the first two games of the season, so there's concern about his ability and health if he does play as expected. With other QBs like Carson Palmer, Tyrod Taylor and Derek Carr emerging and having good matchups this week, chances are you may have a better and safer option than Brees. But if he's your best bet, the Cowboys defense isn't scaring anyone this year.
The return of Brees most helps Brandin Cooks, Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller as the dynamic talents all have better opportunities at big games now. A limited Drew Brees is still a better QB than Luke McCown at his best, so this makes the Saints offensive weapons all more valuable. Anyone looking at McCown as a streaming option this week can safely drop him. Even if he does get the start, it's the late game so the risk is too high to not find an option playing earlier in the day.
