Hey! You can't fall asleep yet! There's still college football going on and still money to be won in DFS! It's not over until WE say it is! Are you with me? Let's finish Week 5 of the last great college football season the right way! There are some really good players in action after the sun goes down!
This is only a three-game slate, but we have some really great options! We start off in StarkVegas with the Tide visiting in a rare 9 pm ET start time in Mississippi. Next up is the high-flying Huskies in Tucson to take on Arizona. We close out in Fresno with the Pack in town.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/30/23, locking at 9 PM Eastern. I’ll provide multiple suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks
Michael Penix, Washington ($9,600)
Michael Penix "only" threw for 304 yards last week against Cal. That was his lowest total of the season by more than 100 yards! That's the kind of guaranteed production I want. Pay up! It's worth it! Penix has thrown 16 touchdown passes in just four games.
Jalen Milroe, Alabama ($7,900)
Jalen Milroe was very efficient against Mississippi and still managed to pick up 28 rushing yards. The week off did him good. We would like to see a few more touchdowns out of Milroe, but we should get them against the struggling Mississippi State defense. This is the game where Milroe really gets his confidence back.
Also consider: Mikey Keene, Fresno State ($8,300); Will Rogers, Mississippi State ($6,300)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs
Elijah Gilliam, Fresno State ($5,800)
Elijah Gilliam was just doing cardio in the easy win over Kent last week, but he still scored three touchdowns. That more than made up for the pedestrian yardage totals. The Nevada tilt likely won't be any closer, but Fresno will still look to get Gilliam a touchdown or three. I'm not worried about the usage.
Dillon Johnson, Washington ($5,100)
Dillon Johnson isn't getting the work out of the backfield that he did in Starkville last year, but he is still getting double-digit touches per game. There are a lot of mouths to feed in this offense, but Johnson has still carved out a little role for himself. He has scored two touchdowns in the three games he has played.
Also consider: Jase McClellan, Alabama ($6,200); Malik Sherrod, Fresno State ($5,200); Michael Wiley, Arizona ($4,200)
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers
Rome Odunze, Washington ($7,500)
These Washington receivers are something else. Rome Odunze has at least 107 receiving yards in every game this season with at least five receptions. He has scored five times in four games. The floor is really high considering Odunze's low mark on the season is 29 DraftKings points. Name any other position player that is a guarantee to top that.
Erik Brooks, Fresno State ($6,600)
Erik Brooks "only" had 17.9 DraftKings points in the blowout of Kent State last week. That's still nearly 3x value, which is close to what we're looking for. Nevada has played better in the last couple of weeks. If they manage to hang around, Brooks has a really high ceiling. Not quite as high as Odunze, but plenty high enough for the price.
Ja'Lynn Polk, Washington ($5,800)
Yes, I would use every Washington receiver if I could afford it, but why pay for McMillan when you can have Ja'Lynn Polk for $900 less? Polk has topped 100 yards in three of the four games and has scored five touchdowns in four games. His low mark in receptions was three in the first game against Boise. He still topped 100 yards and scored.
Also consider: Jalen McMillan, Washington ($6,700); Jacob Cowing, Arizona ($6,500); Lideatrick Griffin, Mississippi State ($5,100); Jalen Hale, Alabama ($3,900)
DraftKings CFB Stacks:
Fresno State
I like stacking Fresno because there is some kind of hierarchy here. Washington is super expensive and is expected to blow out Arizona. That leaves Fresno against a porous Nevada defense. Mikey Keene and Erik Brooks are must-haves. Malik Sherrod might have a higher workload, but if you want a back, I still prefer Gilliam. Jaelen Gill and Jalen Moss are both solid options.
Also consider: Washington, Alabama
