Hey! You can't fall asleep yet! There's still college football going on and still money to be won in DFS! It's not over until WE say it is! Are you with me? Let's finish Week 4 of the last great college football season the right way! There are some really good players in action after the sun goes down!
Fresno is the only one stepping out of conference as they welcome in Kent State. Arizona State hosts USC in what promises to be a blowout. Washington brings in an improving Cal team. We finish this on the islands with Hawaii hosting New Mexico State.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/23/23, locking at 10:30 PM Eastern. I’ll provide multiple suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks
Michael Penix, Washington ($9,400)
I expect Cal to hang with Washington for longer than Arizona State will hang with USC. With some careful lineup crafting, you can get both Caleb Williams and Penix, but I find I like my lineup a lot better when just using one. That one for me is Penix. He's cheaper and should be in a much more competitive game. When comparing defenses, Cal's is statistically a little worse, but it really doesn't matter. You're paying for 2.5 quarters of Williams or a shade over three quarters for Penix.
Brayden Schager, Hawaii ($6,500)
Schager has thrown for 1,103 yards already. This is a true run-and-shoot attack this year for Hawaii. He struggled against Oregon, but we'll excuse that. We won't excuse the three interceptions against Albany. Schager is a risk, but the yards will be there and he should have a few touchdowns against the Aggies.
Also consider: Caleb Williams, USC ($10,500); Mikey Keene, Fresno State ($8,100); Diego Pavia, New Mexico State ($6,900)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs
Jaydn Ott, California ($7,300)
Cal struggled against Idaho for a while and it was all because they couldn't run the ball. Getting Ott back is going to alleviate that problem. Washington's run defense hasn't been as good as last season, so Ott should have a productive game. He has scored three touchdowns in two games against North Texas and Auburn. Having a strong game against Auburn's defense tells me Ott will be fine here so long as he is healthy.
Elijah Gilliam, Fresno State ($5,500)
Even with Malik Sherrod healthy last week, Gilliam led the Bulldogs in carries by a pretty large margin. This offense runs through Mikey Keene, but Fresno's backs are still productive in the run game and catch some passes. Sherrod is likely to play again and Gilliam may lose some carries, but I'm comfortable paying for 15 touches against Kent since he is cheaper than Sherrod anyway.
Also consider: Isaiah Ifanse, California ($5,600); Star Thomas, New Mexico State ($5,000)
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers
Jalen McMillan, Washington ($7,200)
Rome Odunze went nuts last week, but that was with McMillan out for almost half the game. It sounds like McMillan is on track to play this week, so I'll take McMillan for a bit cheaper than Odunze. Neither are bad options, but McMillan seems to be the first look on most plays for Michael Penix.
Erik Brooks, Fresno State ($6,500)
I'm not playing receiver roulette with USC's receivers. I'll go with the steady and guaranteed production of Brooks. Brooks has nine, eight, and 11 receptions in Fresno's three games this season. That kind of guaranteed production is exactly what I'm looking for. Brooks has averaged 29.6 DraftKings points per game and has played two Power Five schools.
Pofele Ashlock, Hawaii ($5,800)
All of those passes that Schager is throwing have to go somewhere. Ashlock has 27 receptions in four games with 362 yards and three touchdowns. That comes out to around seven receptions, 90 yards, and .75 touchdowns per game. Not bad for this price!
Also consider: Dorian Singer, USC ($6,900); Jaelen Gill, Fresno State ($6,200); Ja'Lynn Polk, Washington ($5,400); Jonathan Brady, New Mexico State ($4,200)
DraftKings CFB Stacks:
Fresno State
I like stacking Fresno because there is some kind of hierarchy here. USC has five receivers that routinely catch passes. Washington is super expensive and is expected to blow out Cal. That leaves Fresno against a porous Kent defense. Mikey Keene and Erik Brooks are must-haves. Malik Sherrod might have a higher workload, but if you want a back, I still prefer Gilliam. Jaelen Gill and Jalen Moss are both solid options.
Also consider: USC, Washington
