Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally, my name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels and know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in the MLB and NHL. I enjoy the deep dumpster diving and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays. I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform. We now have enough data to focus on positive and negative trends by implementing my trend chart where I look at both L25 and L10 to help see which teams are trending in which direction.
Welcome back to the discount rack! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, April 15th, 2024. We've reached the final Monday of the regular season and are graced with an 8-game slate filled with teams needing to take away a win.

NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 4/15/24
As stated earlier, I have begun to implement my personal trend chart. Below, you'll see stats that reflect the average of L25 and L10. This happens to weigh L10 heavier, which tightens our sample and shows both positive and negative trends.
DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks
Devin Cooley SJ - DK $6.9K || FD $6.5K
Opponent - Edmonton Oilers
Since being called up, Cooley has been admirable in net in the face of heavy shot volume. Last time out Devin was cool as the other side of the pillow, stopping 49 of 50 shots. Tonight's matchup with EDM should continue the shot barrage, I'm always down to save salary in net for a chance at another 49 saves.
Others to consider: Semyon Varlamov VGK (DK $7.8K || FD $8.0K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks
Tommy Novak NSH - DK $4.0K || FD $5.1K
Opponent - Pittsburgh Penguins
With the season winding down, Novak has found himself with extra opportunities both 5v5 and on the PP1 unit culminating in points in the last three games. His L10 metrics speak for themselves and he still carries an xGF differential of over a goal and a half.
Jean-Gabriel Pageau NYI - DK $3.1K || FD $4.0K
Islanders have slightly changed their lines, leading to Pageau centering a line with Anders Lee and Pierre Engvall. The new L3 may be needed more for their defense but I have high hopes for this line against a Jack Hughes(less) Devils team. Unfortunately, TOI may be an issue but that's usually the case when hunting for value.
Opponent - New Jersey Devils
Others to consider: Adam Henrique EDM (DK $3.9K || FD $6.0K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks
Warren Foegele EDM - DK $3.9K || FD $4.9K
Another winger that's trending up at the end of the regular season. EDM without McDavid has allowed a few other players to have an uptick in SOG, including Warren. If you're not rostering Cooley as your value goalie, I would suggest fitting Foegele into your EDM stacks.
Opponent - San Jose Sharks
Luke Evangelista NSH - DK $3.9K || FD $4.5K
See the above chart with Novak for his great L10 metrics. Like his linemate, Evangelista is finding copious opportunities with more TOI both 5v5 and on the PP1 unit as well. Luke has been firing the puck the last 4 games accumulating 23 shots, almost as many as the ten games (24) leading up to this stretch.
Opponent - Pittsburgh Penguins
Others to consider: Anders Lee NYI (DK $3.5K || FD $4.5K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks
Haydn Fleury TB - DK $2.5K || FD $3.5K
Opponent - Buffalo Sabres
There's an outside chance that Fleury is healthy and back with TB. Anytime we see a min-price blueliner with both shot and block upside, he is immediately in consideration when trying to save money to fit in a stud forward. Keep an eye on his status throughout the day.
Others to consider: Adam Pelech NYI (DK $3.0K || FD $3.9K)
Below I've included a chart of the top 25 defensemen over the past month concentrating more on peripheral floors rather than relying on goals/assists.
