Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally; my name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels and know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in the MLB and NHL. I enjoy the deep dumpster diving and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays. I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system, but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform.
Today's DFS content concentrates on tonight's showdown slate for DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, February 3, 2025. The Nashville Predators host the Ottawa Senators in what could end up being a defensive battle.

NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 2/3/25
For showdown slates, I generally avoid goalies due to pricing and risk avoidance while concentrating on players with over 20 minutes of TOI who pitch in with both shots and blocks.
Below is my top 25 skater chart, concentrating on peripherals over the last month.
DraftKings and FanDuel Captain - NHL DFS Picks
Roman Josi - Nashville - DK $14.7K || FD $13.5K
A constant force in all departments, especially with TOI consistently nearing 25 minutes. Josi has been quiet for the last three games, which is uncommon for him.
Travis Hamonic - Ottawa - DK $5.4K || FD $6.5K
Travis is a key player in tonight's slate in value alone. Returning from his 10-game absence, Hamonic has been red-hot the past four games, hitting the shot block bonus in three of four games as well as chipping in eight shots on goal. Ranked second in the skater chart, setting Hamonic as a cheap captain both sets an affordable floor while allowing us to fit in the rest of the high-priced options.
Jake Sanderson - Ottawa - DK $12.3K || FD $12.5K
Another solid defender with enormous upside that makes for a great choice as captain. Consistently over 20 minutes on ice, Jake fills both the shots and block categories with lamp-lighting upside.
DraftKings and FanDuel Flex Players- NHL DFS Picks
Filip Forsberg - Nashville - DK $10.6K || FD $14.5K
Filip is the top offensive weapon for the Predators, the issue is pricing and TOI. Forsberg is a must in lineups for his ceiling potential, I just rather not overpay for a possible floor output.
Artem Zub - Ottawa - DK $5.2K || FD $7.5K
Another key value play for tonight, Zub teeters on the shot block bonus nightly with the occasional shot burst while reaching 20 minutes on ice.
Jonathan Marchessault - Nashville - DK $9.0K || FD $12K
Switching back to the second line, Jonathan could have an avenue to more shots on goal. Another Predators winger with slate-breaking upside comes at a discount from skaters like Forsberg and Brady Tkachuk.
