Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally. My name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels and know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in the MLB and NHL. I enjoy the deep dumpster diving, so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays.
I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system, but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform.
Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends. We're so glad you could attend. Come inside! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, December 2nd, 2024, at 7:00 PM EDT. Tonight we're back to our usual scheduled small 3-game slate, which means we need to find the low-owned gems.

DraftKings and FanDuel NHL DFS Picks: First Look Stats
After reading this, jump into the RotoBaller Discord NHL channel and chat with all the other great minds about today's slate. Don’t forget to check out our valuable NHL tools, including the NHL DFS Heat Map. I've begun to implement my personal trend chart. This looks at the average between the L25 and L10, weighing the L10 heavier to help find certain positive or negative trends.
DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks
Value in net is key on DK with a three-point bonus at the 35-save mark. We can afford to give up an extra goal or two if our goalie can see a steady shot volume against him. Those extra few hundred can get us those top-line forwards
Arvid Soderblom - DK $7.0K || FD $7.0K
Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs
With Chicago on a B2B and heading into Toronto, Soderblom should be the goalie most people are going to assume we want to stack against. Wrong! Record aside, Arvid has been stellar in his 4 road appearances so far sporting a 2.01 GAA to go along with a .944 SV%. The Leafs have Matthews back making this a harder matchup but the shot volume should be in our favor as well as the ownership.
Others to consider: Igor Shesterkin (DK $7.8K || FD $7.5K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks
Barrett Hayton - DK $3.7K || FD $4.5K
Opponent - Dallas Stars
The top line for the Hockey Club has been a horse on home ice with all three players carrying over a 3.5 xGF/60 on 5v5. Unfortunately, Hayton doesn't see much PP time if any which keeps his price in the value range. Not one for firing pucks as well Barrett has a limited ceiling but all we need is an assist or two to cover his price tag.
Others to consider: Sam Steel (DK $2.5K || FD $3.8K ) W on FD
DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks
Stefan Noesen - DK $3.8K || FD $5.8K
Opponent - New York Rangers
Stefan has found himself up on NJD1 alongside a surging Nico Hischier and Timo Meier. An uptick in TOI has yet to see a price jump for Noesen, who also gets top PP exposure as another avenue for shots against a Rangers team that is bleeding chances to opponents.
Others to consider: Michael Carcone (DK $2.5K || FD $3.7K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks
When selecting defensemen, especially on DK, I tend to find players with a high chance at both blocks and shots and not concentrate so much on point dependency.
Chris Tanev - DK $3.2K || FD $4.8K
Opponent - Chicago Blackhawks
Tanev has continued to be a shot-blocking machine in Toronto averaging over 3 blocks per game. Averaging nearly 20 mins TOI per game as well as allocation on the top PK unit, Chris has ample time to collect his block bonus as well as contribute a random shot or two.
Others to consider: Ian Cole (DK $3.5K || FD $4.4K)
Here is my top 25 defensemen chart, focusing more on shot and block peripherals to find a safer floor.
