Hey, Rotoballers! I’d like to formally introduce myself, my name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels and know I love breaking down dfs slates especially in MLB and NHL. I enjoy the deep dumpster diving so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low owned overlooked, and unwanted plays. I predominantly play on DraftKings so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform.
Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, November 6th, 2023. By now we're a few weeks into the season and most teams have played at least ten games which begins to strengthen trends, both positive and negative. Even though the slate is small, it's packed with high-flying offenses and stubborn goalies.
Make sure and jump into the RotoBaller Discord NHL channel after reading this and chat it up with all the other great minds about today's slate. Don’t forget to also check out our valuable NHL tools including the new NHL DFS Heat Map.

NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 11/6/23
Unfortunately, San Jose and the Sharks' inept defense is off the slate, so we'll have to find another team to pick on. Value will be key tonight with the likes of Matthews, McDavid, and Pastrnak costing quite a bit. As much as I would love to lock in EDM 1, they cost almost half your allotted salary and for how cheap I am, they're not an option for me to full stack at $24.5K on DK. Have no fear though because we get to attack the Blue Jackets as well as a couple of other surprising teams that are giving up a fair share of scoring opportunities. Columbus travels down to Florida to face a potentially explosive Panthers squad. Even though still down center Sam Bennett, FLA 2 has been anchored by Matt Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe both of whom have been a force since reuniting.
DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks
For goalies, I usually look to target teams that yield a high shot volume yet give up fewer high-danger chances. Keep in mind saves are especially key on DK with the 35 saves bonus, but wins are weighed more over on FD. Most of the time this will take us to the bottom of the pricing tier, but fear not, the reward is well worth the risk. Tonight if you're on the fade Edmonton train you'll be able to ride a hot tender in Thatcher Demko.
Thatcher Demko DK $7.6K || FD $8.3K
Opponent - Edmonton Oilers
Facing McDavid and the Oilers is always a tough task but Demko is coming into tonight's matchup hot. Not only is he coming off a 27 save shut out against Dallas, but he has only conceded three goals in his last four games. On the season, Demko is sporting a solid 1.55 GAA along with a .947 SV% which will come in handy versus an Edmonton team that has over 32 sog/60 and a 3.39xGF on 5v5.
Others to consider: Jonas Johansson ( DK $7.3K || FD $8.0K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks
Matt Duchene DK $4.0K || FD $4.3K
It's Camo Hat giveaway night in Dallas, maybe that means the good spots will be hidden and low-owned. With all the accolades going to the top line, Duchene has centered his line on goal-producing stats. Duchene left the last game early, unfortunately ending his 5-game point streak, the injury doesn't seem too severe so hopefully, he's back in tonight. Boston has been tough defensively and should start Ullmark tonight but on a small slate sometimes we have to pick the harder matchups to expose.
Opponent - Boston Bruins
Others to consider: Anthony Cirelli ( DK $3.3K || FD $4.9K )
DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks
Alex Barre-Boulet - DK $3.6K || FD $3.9K
ABB has been a great value piece this year, especially when skating on the Lightning top line with Point & Kucherov. Tonight ABB should find himself down on L3 which should help him avoid the top dman pairing for the Leafs. Time on ice has been somewhat of an issue for the young winger, only skating over 15 minutes just once this year, but he's made the most of it putting up over 36 SCF/60 as well as 17 HDCF/60. Finding himself on the PP2 unit along with linemate Anthony Cirelli should help ABB with another avenue to success.
Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs
Others to consider: Warren Foegele ( DK $3.5K || FD $4.7K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks
Carson Soucy - DK $3.1K || FD $3.9K
Whenever I see his name, I always tend to read it as Keyser Soze. Soucy isn't your usual suspect when it comes to fantasy targets but as of late, he's made himself visible all over the ice contributing to assists, shots, and blocks while skating nearly 19 minutes a game.
Opponent - Edmonton Oilers
Mason Lohrei - DK $2.9K || FD $3.8K
If Boston continues to be down several blue-liners, Lohrei will continue to fill in on the Bruins' second pairing as well as ice time on the PP2 unit. He hasn't been overly productive in the two games played but logging over 21 minutes of TOI gives the kid ample time to contribute at a discount.
Opponent - Dallas Stars
Others to consider: Darren Raddysh ( DK $2.8K || FD $4.K)

This small slate is a fun one, and with the value plays listed above, you should be able to fit in your favorite top stack including the overly expensive EDM 1 that I dismissed earlier. Don't be afraid to go off the beaten path and distinguish yourself from the masses, and as always good luck Rotoballers!
