While a lot of people will be glued to their screens today to watch college football, I will be building MLB and NFL lineups. Saturdays are still all about baseball for me...with a little NFL prep mixed in there, too.
I hope you had some success yesterday as the article was loaded with good picks! Lodolo smashed against the Brew Crew and our pair of Reds lefties both homered, along with Rhys Hoskins. Elvis Andrus scored well, and Ross Stripling was a decent SP2 option. The Dodgers sat Max Muncy for reasons unknown, but Freddie Freeman homered, proving my thesis about lefties vs. Clevinger was correct. The Coors Field game went nuts, but I still managed to cash lineups without it somehow!
As always, this article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Saturday's main slate locks at 7:05 EST on 9/10/2022. The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack! You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all of that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Kevin Gausman @ TEX ($9,700 DK, $10,300 FD)
Gausman is my favorite high-end option today. He's having another excellent season and has been the backbone of this Toronto rotation (along with Alek Manoah) all season long. His strikeout numbers have been consistent all year long, even in games where he gets touched up a bit, giving him a really solid floor.
Texas is a good match-up for him, as they don't have many legit lefties other than Seager and Lowe and their strikeout rate has been on the rise. Gausman has proven he's an ace and he's willing to pitch deep into games and go up over 100 pitches to get his team a chance to win.
Jack Flaherty @ PIT ($6,900 DK, $8,200 FD)
I didn't play Flaherty in his return, mainly because I was worried about how he'd pitch and if he would have a short leash. But he was allowed to throw 91 pitches, which gives me some optimism here about the chances of going 5-6 innings in this one.
I know the Pirates beat up on Mikolas yesterday, but if Flaherty is actually finally healthy, he's a far better pitcher than Miles and has 6-7 strikeout upside here against a Pittsburgh team that whiffs a ton. I like him more as an SP2 on DratKings at a really cheap price than as your only pitcher on FanDuel.
Also consider - Shohei Ohtani vs. HOU, Jose Urquidy vs. LAA

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Gio Urshela - 3B, MIN vs. Triston McKenzie ($3,000 DK, $2,100 FD)
We are going value hunting here with the first few picks and a little off the grid with some guys who probably won't pop up in any projections or optimizers. It's a "revenge game" for Urshela, who started his career in Cleveland (just kidding, you know I don't play those angles).
But I do have an angle here backed by stats. McKenzie has had a nice year, but he is an extreme flyball pitcher (49% to RHH) who also has some reverse splits. They aren't totally drastic, but he clearly is tougher on lefties. Urshela is having a pretty mediocre campaign overall, but does have pop in his bat and doesn't strike out all that much (17%). I think Minnesota righties could be a sneaky spot on this slate that is shaping up to be rather chalky.
Keston Hiura - 1B/2B, MIL vs. Chase Anderson ($3,200 DK, $2,400 FD)
Ok, I really had to dig in on this one and I hope Kolten Wong sits out another game so we get Hiura in the lineup again. We used to think of Hiura as a strict platoon guy, but he's been massively better against righties than lefties this season with some of the most dramatic reverse splits you'll see. 11 of his 14 home runs are off righties, resulting in a .419 wOBA and .316 ISO. He still strikes out a ton against everyone, but he's making solid contact when he does connect. This is a perfect match-up for him here as Chase Anderson has been a reverse splits pitcher his entire career and has been barreled up 16% of the time so far in his time with Cincy.
Bo Bichette - SS, TOR vs. Kohei Arihara ($5,700 DK, $4,000 FD)
Here's an easy angle for you - play Bo because he's absolutely locked in right now and crushing the baseball. He was 2-4 last night with a triple and a HR and went nuts on Baltimore in the series before that with a 3-HR game and 10 hits over three games. His numbers so far this month are incredible as he's hitting .514 with 6 HR, 17 RBI, and 12 runs scored. Arihara isn't great and the Texas bullpen is mediocre at best, too.
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
TJ Friedl - OF, CIN vs. Jason Alexander ($2,700 DK, $3,000 FD)
I have to include at least one of the Reds again today, and Friedl is my pick based on how he matches up against Houser today and his main pitch - the sinker. I would expect him to lead off for Cincy and he's simply too good of a value, especially on DraftKings, to pass up. Houser has been pretty objectively bad this season and other than a good groundball rate to righties, he simply doesn't have much going for him.
Daulton Varsho - C/OF, ARI vs. Jose Urena ($4,600 DK, $3,600 FD)
I had to pick only one Arizona guy to write up, so I chose Varsho as he's red hot lately with six home runs in his last six games and he has some of the best season-long stats of any of the Arizona lefties against RHP, too. I really think we have to go all in on the Snakes here, with Jake McCarthy and Corbin Carroll being the other two must-play Arizona guys in your stacks.
Mike Trout - OF, LAA vs. Jose Urquidy ($5,800 DK, $4,300 FD)
I'm wondering if Mr. Trout gets overlooked here tonight with a lot of attention being paid to fitting in Coors bats. Trout has homered in five straight games if you haven't noticed and the Angels offense is finally no longer the doormat of the American League. Urquidy pitched well against them last week but he's a fly-ball prone, reverse-splits pitcher who Trout could easily victimize with another long ball tonight.
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
Here are my top stacks for tonight (in the order in which I like them)
- Arizona Diamondbacks (6.0 implied run total) vs. Jose Urena (5.63 xFIP)
- Milwaukee Brewers (5.3 implied run total) vs. Chase Anderson (5.60 xFIP)
- Cincinnati Reds (3.4 implied run total) vs. Adrian Houser (4.75 xFIP)
I can't help but want to eat the Snakes chalk today, but I may go easy on the Colorado side as Mad Bum hasn't been a total gas can this season.
