Happy Tuesday, RotoBallers! It's another terrific Tuesday slate featuring 14 pitchers, only three of which are lefties; Brandon Williamson at Kansas City, Patrick Corbin vs. Houston, and Hogan Harris vs. Tampa Bay. There is no Coors game today, but we have matchups in hitter-friendly Fenway Park, Camden Yards, and Kauffman Stadium, with the O's and Royals seeing high temperatures in the 80s.
With a slate this large, the opportunities for different builds are almost endless. Tournaments? How about the Subway Series and a Yankees stack (sans Aaron Judge) going up against Max Scherzer? Cash games? How about Tampa Bay against Harris, one of our lefties? So many games, so many options! Let's dig in and see what else looks good for tonight's slate.
This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 6/13/2023 and the slate locking at 7:05 pm ET. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all that out of the way, it's onto the picks!
DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Hunter Brown, HOU vs. WAS ($10,500 DK, $10,000 FD)
In 16 innings pitched at home, versus left-handed hitters, Hunter has a 29.2% K rate and a 3.48 xFIP. Through 12 games started, he has a 28.1% K rate, 3.69 ERA, and 3.29 FIP. The rookie has stepped up due to injuries to Luis Garcia, Lance McCullers, and José Urquidy and he has impressed in his role as a starter. The Nationals are starting to trend up but I'm not a believer... yet. My confidence in Hunter is high and he'll be my SP1 in all contests. Hunter is in good company on this list!
Zack Wheeler, PHI @ ARI ($10,100 DK, $10,600 FD)
Zack Wheeler is facing an Arizona team that has a wRC+ of 120 for the season but is 102 for the last 30 days. A wRC+ of 102 is just over the average but it shows that Arizona is starting to come back down to earth. Wheeler's 27.2% K rate and 3.6 xFIP should help him add another "W" to the win column as he has one of the top matchups on tonight's slate.
Also consider: Edward Cabrera, Max Scherzer, Kutter Crawford

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Freddie Freeman - 1B, LAD vs. Lance Lynn ($6,300 DK, $4,500 FD)
If you can find value elsewhere (Kutter Crawford, anyone?), paying up for Freddie Freeman gives you a batting average of .343 with 4 HRs and 22 RBI in 211 plate appearances against right-handed pitchers in 2023. Collectively, the Dodgers have a .205 ISO against right-handed pitchers this season, the highest in the league. The Dodgers will be one of my stacks today along with a few others and Freeman will be part of that stack.
Jose Altuve, 2B, HOU vs. Patrick Corbin ($4,400 DK, $3,000 FD)
In his career against left-handed pitchers, Altuve has a .324 batting average and has hit 58 HRs and 180 RBI in 1,877 plate appearances. In the last five games, he is only hitting .174 with four hits and five runs scored in five games, but this won't last. Houston's record against the Nat's in 2022 was 2-1, and this will be their first matchup this season. I expect Houston to win against Washington and for Altuve to be an essential contributor.
Rafael Devers, 3B, BOS vs. Chase Anderson ($5,600 DK, $3,700 FD)
In 11 plate appearances versus Anderson, Devers has gone 3-10 with 2 RBI and a .300 batting average. Versus right-handed pitchers, for his career, Devers has a .284 batting average with 126 HRs and 377 RBIs. When Anderson is away from home, against left-handed hitters, he has a 1.59 ERA but a 5.58 xFIP. Boston is projected for over five runs tonight, and Devers will no doubt be pivotal to their success versus Anderson.
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Randy Arozarena– OF, TB vs. Hogan Harris ($5,600 DK, $3,900 FD)
Against left-handed pitchers, Arozarena is slashing .302/.400/.651 with 13 hits, five HRs, and nine RBI. While stealing against left-handed pitchers is difficult, Arozarena has one against a leftie and nine for the season. Working in his favor are larger bases and updated rules regarding pickoffs. Besides anticipating a big hitting game tonight, I expect him to contribute with at least one stolen base in my Rays stack tonight.
TJ Friedl - OF, CIN vs Jordan Lyles ($3, 900 DK, $2,900 FD)
Friedl is going up against right-handed pitcher Lyles tonight and while the Reds aren't at home, they are at Kauffman Stadium, where temperatures are expected to be 81 degrees at game time. For the season against right-handed pitchers, Friedl has a .311 batting average with three HRs and 19 RBI in 149 plate appearances. Between the weather and his record against righties, I expect Friedl to contribute heavily to tonight's final score.
Masataka Yoshida - OF, BOS vs Chase Anderson ($5,400 DK, $3,600 FD)
Yet another left-handed hitter versus Chase Anderson. See where I'm going here? In Yoshida's 183 plate appearances against right-handed pitchers, he has a .317 batting average with six HRs and 25 RBI. He also has a 24.6% Oppo, which is just over the league average and another sneaky way to add to the run count tonight against the Phillies.
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Hogan Harris
The Rays are facing one of the two lefties on tonight's slate, Hogan Harris. Tampa has a .244 ISO against left-handed pitchers, the third highest in the league. Tampa Bay's wRC+ for the last 30 days is 112, up from 96 for the season. Harris has a 6.46 ERA and a 5.41 xFIP. He is who we think he is and this is a great match for the Rays and one of my favorite stacks.
Favorite Plays: Josh Lowe, Randy Arozarena, Yandy Diaz
Boston Red Sox vs. Chase Anderson
As stated above, when Chase Anderson is away from home, against left-handed hitters, he has a 1.59 ERA but a 5.58 xFIP. In their six games against Anderson, Boston is slashing .337/.379/.558 and a .937 OPS. Boston is one of my favorite stacks tonight, and I'll target the players I've mentioned in this article, along with a few more below.
Favorite Plays: Rafael Devers, Justin Turner, Kiké Hernández
Also Consider: Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, Toronto Blue Jays, and Houston Astros
