It's all-day baseball time! No more of this split-slate nonsense. The Wild Card round starts bright and early (for me, anyway) at noon Eastern and the final pitch won't hit the mitt until around midnight! This is a baseball fan's greatest week of the season. Let's parlay that with some DFS wins, shall we?
We have the Rays in Cleveland for the early matchup again. Seattle took game 1 in Toronto and is back at it for the matinee. We start the evening off in Queens with deGrom taking on the Padres. We finish this off in St Louis after the Cardinals lost a heartbreaker today. Can they recover?
As always, this article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Saturday's main slate locks at 12:07 pm EST on 10/8/2022. The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack! You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all of that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Triston McKenzie vs. TB ($8,700 DK, $9,900 FD)
McKenzie hasn't had a bad outing since the beginning of August. None of the other pitchers on the slate can say that. Not even deGrom. The blister issues for deGrom have me concerned enough to not use him in every lineup. It's deGrom...I'll still have some exposure. However, McKenzie seems like the safest option for cash games, especially considering his gem against the Rays at home about a fortnight ago.
Blake Snell at NYM ($7,900 DK, $9,400 FD)
Snell started against the Mets twice this year. He got roughed up in San Diego and threw a gem at Citi Field. The Mets will throw a lot of righties at Snell, especially if Starling Marte is able to go, so this is more of a GPP play. Snell closed the year strong with the exception of a September start against the Dodgers and an August start against Cleveland. Snell has nice strikeout potential for a cheap price for those looking to save some cash for bats in a GPP.
Also consider: Jacob deGrom, Tyler Glasnow

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Josh Naylor - 1B, CLE vs. Tyler Glasnow ($4,000 DK, $3,000 FD)
If I thought Vlad could get the ball in the air against Robbie Ray (his career launch angle against him is -10 degrees), I would use him. Instead, I'll take a shot with Naylor in what could be a bullpen game for the Rays. Glasnow was on a pitch count in both games that he pitched in this year and likely will be here. I will be shocked if he makes it through five. I'll take the hot bat on the cheap against the Tampa pen.
Whit Merrifield - 2B, TOR vs. Robbie Ray ($3,100 DK, $2,700 FD)
Whit got a hit off Castillo yesterday, so I'll ride the continuing hot hand. His price actually went down on FanDuel, so I like him even more over there. I have a plan for all of the money we're saving here. We'll pay up elsewhere. 2B continues to be rather weak, and Merrifield is too cheap for the way he's hitting right now on both sites.
Jose Ramirez - 3B, CLE vs. Tyler Glasnow ($6,100 DK, $4,500 FD)
Ramirez accounted for all of the Cleveland runs yesterday with a two-run homer and has driven in two runs in each of the last three games that he has played. I still don't think Glasnow goes very deep in this one, so Ramirez should get a couple of shots at the Rays' bullpen. Ramirez hit .323 with two homers and eight RBI in seven games against the Rays this year. He's worth the pay-up today.
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Julio Rodriguez - OF, SEA at Kevin Gausman ($6,000 DK, $4,200 FD)
If you want a reason why Seattle made the playoffs look no further than Julio. He hit .429 with five homers and six RBI in the last ten games of the season with ten runs scored and a steal. He picked up another hit and two more runs scored yesterday, so I'll throw him at Gausman too. It was not a good end of the regular season for Gausman. I'm buying into the Julio hot streak again.
Bryce Harper - OF, PHI at Miles Mikolas ($5,900 DK, $3,600 FD)
I really like the discount on FD for Harper, and I may end up switching to Schwarber on DK since he is $500 less than Harper over there. Harper does have the better past numbers against Mikolas – he has a homer and a double off of him in ten at-bats – so I'm still leaning towards Harper. I told you that I had plans for all that money we saved on infielders and pitchers. I'm going with Ramirez and the big bats in the outfield.
Mark Canha - OF, NYM vs. Blake Snell ($3,800 DK, $2,500 FD)
I really like the bargain price on FD for Canha. We'll need it for pitching. Canha closed out the season with six hits in the last three games, including a home run. You want righties against Snell. Canha himself is 4-for-11 lifetime against Snell with three walks and a double. That's a nice return for this price range, especially since his teammates hit Snell well too.
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
Here are my top stacks for tonight (in the order in which I like them):
Toronto Blue Jays - Trusting Robbie Ray against a lineup chock full of righties seems like a fool's errand. I will anchor the lineup with George Springer if he plays – he's the guy that has really smacked Ray in his career. Bo Bichette, Whit, and Teoscar Hernandez are high on my list regardless. I discussed my misgivings about Vlad earlier, but I still might throw him in one just because I can afford it. I wouldn't touch Matt Chapman. He has been ice-cold for about two months now.
Philadelphia Phillies - After the way the Cardinals lost yesterday, it's going to be tough to come back from that. This is especially true with Miles Mikolas on the hill. He has had some bad starts and some great starts. It's rarely somewhere in between. The Phillies have a lot of lefty power and both of the runs that Mikolas gave up against the Phillies this year were on long balls. This may not be worthy of a full stack, but I'll take Harper/Schwarber wherever I can afford them. Jean Segura and Bryson Stott are good options on the cheap.
Honorable mention: Seattle Mariners
