Today's MLB slates are split up as is the norm for late-season baseball. Half the guys I think will play will not, so you have to be as flexible as Gumby to play MLB DFS in September and October, but that also means that there is a lot of money out there should you dare to dive in those waters. That's why we're here.
There are eight games on the main slate for tonight's action. Two pitchers tip the scales on DraftKings at five figures. Three of them weigh in over that mark on FanDuel. So, hey...at least we have some nice pitching on this slate! That makes it easier.
As always, this article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Saturday's main slate locks at 7:10 pm EST on 10/1/2022. The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack! You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all of that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Cristian Javier vs. TB ($9,400 DK, $10,100 FD)
We are to the point in the season where teams are starting to limit their pitchers for the postseason. The Mets have been doing that with Scherzer for the better part of a month already. The Astros have known their postseason fate for a while now, but they still let Javier throw around 90 pitches. He has only allowed four hits over his last three starts spanning 17 innings while striking out 22. The lack of hits plays well on DK while the nice K rate plays on both sites. Javier is arguably the safest option tonight.
Jordan Montgomery vs. PIT ($7,600 DK, $8,700 FD)
It has been a rough couple of weeks for Montgomery, but Pittsburgh should cure what ails him. This team still can't hit and strikes out a ton. There aren't a lot of great options out there tonight. I would consider Kyle Wright, but he's slowing down as well and has been battered by the Mets this year. I'll chase the strikeout upside with Montgomery against the anemic offense.
Also consider: Max Scherzer, Kyle Wright, Luis Ortiz

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Pete Alonso - 1B, NYM at Kyle Wright ($5,300 DK, $4,200 FD)
Alonso just keeps right on hitting. He has driven in a staggering 17 runs in the last 10 games as he tries to propel the Mets to a division title almost single-handedly. He has also hit Wright hard. Alonso is 4-for-11 with a pair of homers against the youngster. I'm not saying that the stage is too big for Wright, but I'll trust a red-hot Alonso in this situation.
Jeff McNeil - 2B/OF, NYM at Kyle Wright ($4,100 DK, $2,600 FD)
I like the discount on McNeil on FanDuel. He has hit Wright better than any of his teammates. McNeil is a scorching 7-for-15 career against Wright even though he hasn't hit one out of the park yet. Still, pitching is expensive (especially if you roll with Mad Max) and McNeil gives us a great bargain bat that is almost certain to put up some crooked numbers.
Luis Rengifo - 2B/3B, LAA vs. Cole Ragans ($4,200 DK, $2,500 FD)
Here's another great bargain on FanDuel. Rengifo closed out a stellar September in which he hit .290 with seven multi-hit efforts by hitting a homer in each of the last two games. Rengifo is running hot anyway and has hit lefties well this season. Rengifo is hitting .331 with 11 of his 17 homers off of southpaws with 22 RBI and a strikeout rate around 12%. I would use him against just about any lefty right now.
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Eloy Jimenez - OF, CWS at Mike Clevinger ($4,700 DK, $3,300 FD)
This is more a jab at Clevinger than an endorsement of Eloy. Clevinger has a ghastly 6.19 ERA in his last ten starts and gave up 20 runs in September alone! I'm going after the massive power of Eloy against a guy that allowed seven homers in five starts last month. Jimenez homered twice this week and has a great chance at posting a third tonight.
Lars Nootbar - OF, STL vs. Luis Ortiz ($3,200 DK, $2,500 FD)
I like Ortiz here, but he'll be lucky to go five innings and there's a lot of potential against that Pittsburgh bullpen. Nootbar reached base in every game this week with a pair of homers and four RBI. The four walks are a nice touch, resulting in some hidden points. I will likely pay way, way up at pitcher, making these nice little values a necessity tonight.
Bryan De La Cruz - OF, MIA at Freddy Peralta ($2,300 DK, $2,600 FD)
This isn't the Freddy Peralta that we're used to. The Brewers have been using him out of the bullpen for the last couple of weeks, so he likely won't even notch five innings. Meanwhile, De La Cruz is one of the hottest hitters going right now. He is hitting .410 with three homers, nine RBI, and three steals in the last ten games alone. He's far too cheap on both sites, especially on DK.
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
Here are my top stacks for tonight (in the order in which I like them):
Chicago White Sox - Clevinger has been a right-handed Patrick Corbin this month, and honestly, he has been lousy for much of the second half. The White Sox burn my money like no other every time I stack them, but this seems too good to be true. Jose Abreu has a pair of homers against Clevinger and Eloy has light-tower power, so I'm starting with them. Yoan Moncada and A.J. Pollock are seeing the ball well, so they're in for me too. Elvis has slowed down, but I don't hate him in this spot.
Los Angeles Dodgers - The Dodgers can stack this lineup with eight righties, and they likely will against Kyle Freeland. Freeland is better away from Coors, but better is a relative term when you're discussing his 6.00 ERA up in the Rockies. Will Smith is a must and Trea Turner feels necessary too. The good part is that Chris Taylor, Justin Turner, and Trayce Thompson are very affordable.
Honorable mention: Milwaukee Brewers
