Welcome to the first jam-packed Saturday of the last great college football season. For some dumb reason, they are trying to be the NFL. At any rate, we have nine games for the night slate, so we have literally hundreds of options to choose from. I will try to narrow that down a little. Kansas State is slumming against a FCS school, but the competition for Texas A&M (New Mexico) isn't much better.
We have some good games on here too. UTSA heads to Houston to take on the Cougars. We have the Carolina battle in Charlotte. West Virginia is expecting whiteout conditions in Pennsylvania. Texas Tech heads up to Laramie for the highest FBS stadium. Alabama hosts Middle Tennessee State. Virginia Tech "welcomes" in an Old Dominion team that has beaten them twice in a row. We close it out with South Alabama heading to New Orleans to take on Tulane.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/2/23, locking at 7 PM Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks
Spencer Rattler, South Carolina ($8,800)
If the Gamecocks are going to win this game, it will be on the arm of Rattler. He was outstanding for the last three games of 2022, even in the loss to Notre Dame. The North Carolina defense has been touted as "improved" for each of the last three years. I've yet to see it, so excuse me if I don't believe it just yet. I believe in Rattler's resurgence more than the Tarheels' defense.
Frank Harris, UTSA ($7,100)
If you have read me at all over the last three years, you know how I feel about Harris and UTSA. The Roadrunners suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss to Houston in the opener last year, but the Cougars had Nathaniel Dell and Clayton Tune, both of whom are now in the NFL. Now it's Harris's time to shine. He put up a whopping 41.78 DraftKings points in that game. A repeat is completely within reach against a generous Houston defense.
Carter Bradley, South Alabama ($6,500)
The Tulane defense is pretty tough, but this is a low price for a guy who threw for 3,343 yards and 28 touchdowns last year. The defense isn't quite that tough. The bottom of the quarterback barrel is a bit tough tonight. Bradley is worth a shot in GPP formats, but I prefer going no lower than Harris. There's enough value elsewhere.
Also consider: Jalen Milroe, Alabama ($9,600); Tyler Shough, Texas Tech ($8,400); Michael Pratt, Tulane ($8,000); Grant Wilson, Old Dominion ($5,900)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs
Nicholas Singleton, Penn State ($6,900)
If you need any proof of Singleton's explosiveness, look no further than the Rose Bowl last year. He racked up 120 yards on just seven carries against a Utah defense that dominated in the Pac-12. There is enough work for both backs in this Penn State backfield, especially against a West Virginia team that gave up 150 yards and two rushing touchdowns per game last year.
Treshaun Ward, Kansas State ($6,000)
Ward isn't Deuce Vaughn. We'll just get that out of the way now. However, he is a sturdy back who can handle a heavy workload. I'm excited to see Ward in this offense. Florida State didn't give him more than 15 touches in any game last year and he still did plenty of damage. What's he going to do with 25 touches? For this price, I'm finding out!
CJ Donaldson, West Virginia ($4,700)
The versatile freshman was the best player on the West Virginia offense last year. A talent like him can't be limited by whimsical tags such as positions. He'll be a single back. He'll be a fullback. He will line up at the slot or at tight end. Donaldson will do a little of everything, which makes him a favorite DFS target of mine. He has a lot of ways to get points.
Also consider: Jase McClellan, Alabama ($6,800); Kevorian Barnes, UTSA ($5,600); Dakereon Joyner, South Carolina ($5,500); Jamari Ferrell ($4,500) or D.Q. James, Wyoming ($4,300)
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers
Antwane Wells, South Carolina ($6,900)
Wells hauled in 68 passes last season even though Rattler struggled for the first ten games of the season. The Irish contained him, but Wells went berserk on both Clemson and Tennessee. North Carolina's secondary is similarly Swiss-cheesy. Expect a big game out of Wells here as the Gamecocks will have to throw to keep up with Drake Maye.
Nate McCollum, North Carolina ($5,700)
The Georgia Tech transfer is heading to a pass-happy offense and should put up big numbers. McCollum caught 60 passes on a team where the second-leading receiver only caught 28. Tech just didn't throw that much. McCollum might catch 60 passes before Halloween in this offense. A good chunk of those will come here.
De'Corian Clark, UTSA ($5,200)
Clark still carries a questionable tag from a 2022 leg surgery after the UAB game. If Clark is unable to go, this is an easy pivot to Cephus or Chris Carpenter. UTSA shredded the Houston secondary last year. Expect at least one of the receivers to do the same thing here.
Moose Muhammad, Texas A&M ($4,100)
I don't know how much A&M will throw in this game, but Moose was a force down the stretch in 2022. He was a key piece in the upset win over LSU. Evan Stewart gets most of the attention, but a guy like Moose at this price is too cheap. He caught 23 of his 38 passes over the last four games of 2022.
Also consider: Jerand Bradley, Texas Tech ($6,300); Joshua Cephus, UTSA ($5,700); Kobe Paysour, North Carolina ($5,000); Ja'Shaun Poke, West Virginia ($4,000)
DraftKings CFB Stacks:
UTSA
The Roadrunners racked up 439 yards of total offense on the Houston defense last year. The Houston D was also ravaged by Texas Tech, Kansas, and Temple, among others. Harris and Clark will be in most of my lineups. If Clark doesn't play, Joshua Cephus is my top option. The Houston run defense wasn't terrible in that game, so I probably won't stack with Barnes. It will be Harris and a pair of receivers.
Texas A&M
The A&M run game is a bit of an unknown right now, so expect to see a lot of Amari Daniels and Le'Veon Moss against the hapless Lobos. I'm not paying that price for Conner Weigman, but I'm a big fan of Stewart's playmaking ability and Muhammad's upside for the price.
Also consider: North Carolina, South Carolina
