Worth the DraftKings Investment

Kyle Korver (ATL, G) - $5,400

Sure, other guards such as Chris Paul and Damian Lillard will outscore Kyle Korver. However, for this price he has a much better shot to hit value. In Game 1 Korver played 37 minutes and put up an impressive stat line of 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals. That netted him a total of 41.75 fantasy points which is good for nearly 8x value. Korver not only gets a boost from the DraftKings three-point made bonus, but with nagging injuries to Al Horford and Paul Millsap will continue to be counted on for a big role in the offense. Joe Johnson is certainly slowing down, and Bojan Bogdanovic just does not have the speed to chase Korver around the court and slow down his catch-and-shoot game. Consider Korver one of the safest plays on the board at this price point.

LaMarcus Aldridge (POR, F) - $9,100

With all the attention that was paid to Blake Griffin’s giant Game 1, it seems like LaMarcus Aldridge’s 60 fantasy points has gone under the radar. Aldridge had a monster 32 point, 14 rebound and four block game in 41 minutes, which would again put him at 6x value. Perhaps the best news of all is that Portland has given him free reign to their entire offense, as he put up a ridiculous 34 shots, including 5 from three point range. Although the Grizzlies have a solid defensive front court, Zach Randolph simply does not have the height to contest Aldridge’s jump shot, so he should continue to get solid shots. If he finds a rhythm, like last year in round one, there is the potential for the Blazers star to post 70 or more fantasy points, which gives him a higher upside than even Griffin.

DeAndre Jordan (LAC, C) - $8,400

Like Aldridge, Jordan was also overshadowed by Griffin's powerful Game 1 performance, but he still stayed right around his season average of 37.9 fantasy points. Despite missing out on his first double-double in three games, Jordan still pulled down 14 rebounds and supplemented his fantasy game with nine points and four blocks. A positive aspect of Jordan’s game that most people do not see as advantageous is his poor free throw percentage. Yes, he did go a meager five for 12 in Game 1, however, because he is so poor from the line, San Antonio is likely to foul him more. Even at rate of 50%, that means more points. If Jordan can throw down a few alley oops along with some free throws, he should be able to get another double-double bonus and get above 40 fantasy points.

DraftKings Sleepers & Value Picks

C.J. McCollum (POR, G) - $4,300

The early word is that Aaron Afflalo will give it a go tonight. Most will then assume that C.J. McCollum’s value goes way down, which is why this becomes an even better play. Although his minutes will likely decrease from the 36 he saw in game one, McCollum proved he can be a productive fantasy player in limited minutes. He has been over a fantasy point-per-minute performer in the last few weeks, and that should continue tonight. Also consider that if he goes back to a bench role, McCollum is likely to play more minutes as a go to scorer and also will have less time on the floor against the likes of Tony Allen and Courtney Lee. If Afflalo sits, he is an automatic plug-and-play. If Afflalo is in, McCollum then becomes a phenomenal contrarian GPP play.
