Worth the DraftKings Investment
Eric Bledsoe (PHX, PG) - $8,200
Russell Westbrook is the obvious play at the guard position if you can afford him, but I am going to give you a cheaper alternative. Staying with the same game, I like Bledsoe on the other side of the ball. Similar to Westbrook, Bledsoe is a constant threat for a triple-double.
Oklahoma City has really struggled to defend opposing point guards this season. Westbrook has to expend so much energy carrying the offense that his defense has suffered as a result. Bledsoe will need to have an excellent game to keep pace with Westbrook.
This game has the highest over/under of the day and it is not even close. The spread is close though, and Bledsoe has been playing big minutes lately. Both of these teams are fighting for their playoff lives, so there should be a ton of fantasy goodness in this one.
Kawhi Leonard (SAS, SF) - $8,100
There are not a lot of quality options at the forward spots, but Leonard always makes for a great play. His ability to produce across the board numbers make him one of my favorite targets each time the Spurs play. He is not going to let you down, but at the same time has tremendous upside.
The matchup with Memphis is not ideal, but Leonard has become a matchup-proof play in my opinion. He is just as gifted defensively as he is on the offensive side of the ball. The Spurs have been playing very well lately, and are currently fighting for home court, and the Grizzlies are one of the teams ahead of them as well as a division rival. Leonard should be in for another great game.
DeAndre Jordan (LAC, C) - $8,300
Jordan became an integral part of the Clippers offense during Blake Griffin’s absence. He posted some absolutely ridiculous numbers nearly every night, which drove his price way up. Now that Griffin is back, DeAndre’s price has come back down to playable levels.
His production, however, has not suffered very much since Griffin’s return. Jordan has been remarkably consistent, posting four consecutive double-doubles, including a couple of 20+ rebound games. He has scored over 40 fantasy points in each game over that span.
The matchup against the Celtics is a very favorable one for Jordan. Their weak frontcourt has struggled to contain opposing big men all season long. This game has a high over/under and a surprisingly close spread, so Jordan should have a field day in Boston.
DraftKings Sleeper & Value Pick
Richard Jefferson (DAL, SF) - $3,000
Monta Ellis will not play on Sunday due to a calf injury. Jefferson is expected to start in his place at shooting guard. J.J. Barea is out as well, so it is conceivable that Jefferson gets plenty of run in this one.
He has been solid as a starter this season, averaging 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.8 threes in 11 games. While these numbers are certainly not mind-blowing, they would easily pay of his current minimum salary. Playing Jefferson would also allow you to afford to get some of the higher priced studs in your lineup.
