As we all recover from a crazy National Championship game Monday night, we look ahead to a six-game NBA Tuesday slate.
We have the equivalent of Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence here with both James Harden and Luka Doncic headlining this slate. Let's see which one has the edge.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/14/20. You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks. Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before line-up lock.
DraftKings DFS Guards
James Harden - PG/SG, HOU @ MEM ($13,000)
When deciding between the top two guards in this slate, Harden and Luke Doncic ($12,600), I am giving the edge to Harden. His total is up to a whopping $13,000 here on DraftKings, but for good reason. The Rockets are resting Russell Westbrook on the first night of a back-to-back. The last time this happened, Harden dropped a 40-points triple-double for 81.0 DK fantasy points. Expect more of the same Tuesday in a battle against JA Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite all the hype surrounding the rookie, opposing point guards have usually torched the Grizzlies. Memphis allows the eighth-most DK fantasy points to opposing point guards. Harden will likely operate at point without Westbrook and should have a field day.
Devin Booker - PG/SG, PHO @ ATL ($8,200)
Start guards who face the Atlanta Hawks. This has been one of the many themes this season. The Hawks could possibly be without Trae Young (hamstring) again. The Hawks gave up 32.0 DK fantasy points to a limited Kyrie Irving (shoulder) of the Brooklyn Nets, 47.0 points to Jordan McRae of the Washington Wizards and an astounding 81.0 points to James Harden of the Houston Rockets. The Hawks allow the most points in the paint and points off turnovers to opposing guards. They also allow the second-most second chance points and fourth-most fastbreak points to opposing guards. Despite all this, Booker's price actually went down from his previous three games and will be even more of a bargain Tuesday.
DraftKings DFS Forwards
Montrezl Harrell - PF/C, LAC v. CLE ($7,000)
Teammate Paul George (hamstring) has missed three of the last four games. In those games, Harrell averaged 21.3 points and 9.0 rebounds for an average of 37.4 DK fantasy points. George is out again Tuesday as they face the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers give up the most points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks to opposing centers this year. With Harrell operating as a small-ball five and the extra usage with George out, he should be in for a big day, even in a potential blowout.
Ben McLemore- SG/SF, HOU @ MEM ($3,500)
Head coach Mike D'Antoni confirmed on Monday McLemore will be the starting small forward for the foreseeable future, pushing Danuel House Jr. to the bench. McLemore played well in the spot start on Saturday with 13 points, three rebounds and three assists in just 23 minutes. The Rockets will be sitting Russell Westbrook (rest) which should allow McLemore even more shot attempts and usage against a questionable Grizzlies defense. Memphis is ranked in the bottom-10 in points, three-pointers, assists and steals allowed to opposing guards. McLemore is a great punt to add to your lineup with stars galore.
DraftKings DFS Centers
Rudy Gobert - C, UTA @ BKN ($9,200)
Gobert has seven straight games with double-digit rebounding and seven double-doubles in his past ten games. The second-best rebounder in the league visits Brooklyn to face a Nets team who has been very kind to opposing centers on the season. The Nets give up the seventh-most DK fantasy points to opposing centers this season. Donovan Mitchell (illness) is coming back which will also take some pressure off the interior and allow Gobert better position for offensive rebounds and lobs.
