We have a 10-game slate on Monday night and Coors Field is back in the mix. Four games have an over/under of at least nine total runs. Naturally, the matchup in Colorado between the Pirates and Rockies lead the slate at 11 total runs. Colorado is favored in that game.
Speaking of favorites, three teams are pegged as heavy favorites (-200 odds, or greater) on Monday night: Indians, Yankees, and Cubs. Expect to find at least one of the starters from this group in our suggestions for Monday night.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Luke Weaver, STL (@ MIA) - $7,200
I have Weaver listed fifth in my pitcher rankings on Monday night, yet DraftKings lists him as the 11th-most expensive pitcher in the player pool. Weaver has allowed two earned runs, or less, in four of the last five outings and has struck out at least five batters in three instances during that span. His opponent, Miami, is 27th in runs scored (428 runs in 113 games) and 12th in team strikeouts (968) this season. Also, the Marlins are 24th in team wOBA (.311) against right-handed pitchers this year.
Lance Lynn, NYY (@ CWS) - $7,100
With a matchup taking place in Colorado on Monday night, I would like to save some money at the pitcher position. Lynn is right behind Weaver as the 12th-most expensive pitcher in the slate. Vegas gave Lynn, and the Yankees, one of the strongest odds of the slate (-200). In his first start as a Yankee, Lynn exceeded expectations: 4.1 IP, 0 ER, and 5 K. The White Sox are on the docket on Monday. They are 24th in runs scored (456 runs in 111 games) and fourth in team strikeouts (1,057) in 2018.
DraftKings DFS Infielders
C - Mike Zunino, SEA (@ TEX) - $3,600
If you’re looking for an under-the-radar stack for Monday, it’s the Mariners. Not only are most of their hitters affordable, but Seattle is projected to score the second-most runs on the slate (tied with the Yankees at 5.6 runs). Zunino has the second-highest ISO against left-handed pitchers (.235), behind only Nelson Cruz (.271 ISO). Also, Zunino is 3-for-11 (.273) with two home runs against Martin Perez.
1B - Matt Carpenter, STL (@ MIA) - $5,500
His price tag is steep, but Carpenter’s bat is the best option on the Monday slate. In the past week, he’s 11-for-26 (.423) with two doubles and four home runs (eight walks). Carpenter has crushed a home run in three straight games. Plus, he has a .216 ISO against southpaws since 2017.
2B - Jedd Gyorko, STL (@ MIA) - $4,000
Another strong stack for Monday is St. Louis. We already mentioned Carpenter, now let’s discus Gyorko. He’s 8-for-23 (.348) with two doubles and a home run in the past week (four walks). Also, Gyorko leads the Cardinals with a .280 ISO against left-handed pitchers since 2017. His opponent, Wei-Yin Chen, has allowed at least three earned runs in three of the last four starts, too.
3B - Nolan Arenado, COL (vs. PIT) - $5,400
Finally, we get to the Coors Field bats. Arenado isn’t facing a lefty, but he’s still 9-for-30 (.300), with one double and two home runs, in the past week. He also carries a .220 ISO against right-handed pitchers.
SS - Trevor Story, COL (vs. PIT) - $4,900
Like Arenado, Story is also known as more of a lefty-masher. However, he’s boosted is ISO against righties to a respectable .202 since 2017. Story has also smashed four home runs in the last three contests. He is a must-start for my lineup on Monday night.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Kyle Schwarber, CHC (@ KC) - $4,400
Leading the team is ISO against righties? Check (.279 ISO). Solid week? Check (6-for-15). High implied team run total? Check (5.4 runs). Struggling opposing pitcher? Check (Jakob Junis has allowed at least three earned runs in seven of the past eight starts). Schwarber checks all the boxes on Monday night.
Adam Frazier, PIT (@ COL) - $4,300
The lineup for the Pirates is not very enticing on Monday night. However, if I had to choose one, I’d go with Frazier. He’s 7-for-16 (.438) with three doubles and one home run in the past week. Also, he’s batting .286 against left-handed pitchers this season.
Andrew McCutchen, SF (vs. HOU) - $3,500
McCutchen has a tough opposing pitcher on the hill on Monday night, Morton, but his price tag is too low to ignore. In the past week, Cutch has tallied 11 hits (.440 AVG), with one double and two home runs.
