There's nothing like spending your Sunday afternoon lounging on the couch and watching your DFS stack of hitters mash. Today we're going to help that become a reality for you.
I'll take a look at each position and build a lineup using my favorite plays on the slate. Our goal here is to take down a GPP and secure a nice return on our investment. Today's a tough pitching slate, so we're paying up at starting pitcher and stacking some value hitters. Always remember to stack your hitters to optimize your lineups!
In this article, I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the DraftKings main slate on 8/23/2020. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel and other sports as well.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Yu Darvish - P, CHC vs. CHW ($11,000)
Darvish has picked up right where he left off in the second half of the 2019 season, posting a 25.2 K-BB% and 15.2 SwStr% in 30 innings. He's allowed one run or less in four consecutive starts, so he's coming in hot in this one. Darvish takes on a White Sox lineup that is prone to strikeouts, coming into Saturday with a 26.1 K% (27th) against righties.
Carlos Carrasco - P, CLE vs. DET ($10,500)
Carrasco was a disappointment in his last start in a plus matchup against the Pirates, allowing three earned runs in only 4.1 innings, walking three and striking out five. He's failed to pitch five innings in consecutive starts, but he's in prime position for a bounce-back with another great matchup against a Tigers' offense that came into Saturday with a .281 wOBA (28th) and 29.5 K% (30th).
DraftKings DFS Infielders
Mike Zunino - C, TB vs. TOR ($2,800)
Since we spent up on pitchers, we need to save some money here, so we'll go with Zunino, who has homered in two of his last three games. Zunino goes up against RHP Trent Thornton, who was shelled in his last start, allowing six earned runs in only 0.2 innings.
Ji-Man Choi - 1B, TB vs. TOR ($3,500)
Choi has struggled this season, slashing .194/.298/.375, but he hits the ball hard, posting a 80th-percentile exit velocity so far. He's reasonably priced so he makes for a nice pairing with Zunino against Thornton in a favorable matchup as a left-handed batter against a righty.
Michael Chavis - 2B, BOS @ BAL ($3,900)
Chavis has hit lefties well this season, slashing .276/.300/.552 with two home runs. He goes up against LHP Wade LeBlanc at Camden Yards, so this is an exploitable matchup at a reasonable price. Chavis has some pop in his bat, so he's a good choice to start off our mini-Red Sox stack.
Yoshi Tsutsugo - 3B, TB vs. TOR ($2,600)
Tsutsugo is another disappointing Rays' hitter who has slashed .176/.278/.338 with only three home runs. The good news is that he's hit the ball hard, putting up an 85th-percentile exit velocity and 86th-percentile hard-hit rate. Tsutsugo comes at a fantastic price, so he's the perfect choice to continue this Rays stack.
Xander Bogaerts - SS, BOS @ BAL ($5,200)
Bogaerts has swung a hot bat of late, homering in three of his last nine games. He's absolutely demolished lefties this season, slashing .378/.395/.757 with four home runs against them. Bogaerts has a good chance at strong production in an exploitable matchup, making him an obvious choice to pair with Chavis.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Teoscar Hernandez - OF, TOR @ TB ($3,900)
Hernandez continues to tear the cover off the baseball, putting up a 99th-percentile in both exit velocity and hard-hit rate. He goes up against lefty Josh Fleming, a prospect making his MLB debut who is not expected to pitch deep in this game. Hernandez has hit lefties well, slashing .280/.308/.680 against them this year.
Randal Grichuk - OF, TOR @ TB ($3,500)
Grichuk has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the past week, with six home runs in his past ten games. The streaky slugger has hit well against southpaws, slashing .455/.500/.955 against them this season, making him an ideal pairing with Hernandez.
Manuel Margot - OF, TB vs. TOR ($2,900)
Margot completes our Rays stack as another streaky hitter who has gone 11-for-28 (.393) in his past eight games. He's an easy choice here because he fits in nicely with this roster construction. Let's hope that Margot can keep up the hot streak here against Thornton.
