Saturday is always a busy day in the majors with all of the teams taking to the field. This week five games make up the afternoon slate, before a 10-game featured slate in the evening, which is where our attention will lie.
The Astros and Dodgers are by far the biggest favorites on this slate with San Diego and Oakland a close second. In terms of totals, there are currently three games over 11, in Baltimore, Chicago, and Minnesota, with the games in Cincinnati and St. Louis sitting in the nine-run range.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/10/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Noah Syndergaard, NYM (vs. WSH) - $10,500
It has been an up-and-down season for Syndergaard but his performances since the All-Star break have been immense. In that time he has a 1.78 ERA, an opposing batting average of .209 and 39 strikeouts in 35 1/3 innings. The only slight concern is that the worst of those five starts has been the one he made at home against the Padres. However, the body of work recently has been so strong it is hard to look anywhere else on this slate.
Aaron Sanchez, HOU (@ BAL) - $6,900
I did not think I would be picking Aaron Sanchez this season, but right now he is on a run of very good form. In his last three starts, he averages 22.2 fantasy points on DraftKings, allowing just five earned runs while striking out 22 in 16 2/3 innings. In that time his ERA is 2.70 and his FIP is 1.30, and with the strikeout upside he has demonstrated he becomes a solid price in this start. However, it will be interesting seeing how he does in Baltimore, who are used to seeing him from his time in the AL East.
DraftKings DFS Infielders
C - Jason Castro, MIN (vs. CLE) - $3,700
Castro has very good splits against right-handed pitchers this season, as he has hit all 12 of his home runs when righties have been on the mound. Additionally, his batting average against righties is .267, with a .293 ISO and a .372 wOBA.
1B - Daniel Vogelbach, SEA (vs. TB) - $3,700
This is a search for value as much as anything because targetting Charlie Morton is never ideal. However, Vogelbach has hit 21 of his 26 home runs with right-handed pitchers on the mound, with a .287 ISO and a .384 wOBA.
2B - Mike Moustakas, MIL (vs. TEX) - $4,300
Second base has become the hardest position to find anyone this season, and that has led to Moustakas becoming the option as much as anyone. His 27 home runs, 18 of which have come against right-handed pitchers always makes him a solid option, and you can do a lot worse than a .258 ISO and a .352 wOBA against righties.
3B - Eugenio Suarez, CIN (vs. CHC) - $4,200
Suarez has been on fire since the All-Star break, hitting 11 of his 31 home runs with a .284 batting average in his 113 PA. His is also hitting .277 at home and a has 24 of his 31 home runs when right-handed pitchers are on the mound.
SS - Amed Rosario, NYM (vs. WSH) - $3,600
Rosario has interesting splits this season, with 5-of-12 home runs coming off of left-handed pitchers, while hitting for .309 against lefties. Add in the struggles of Patrick Corbin on the road, where he currently has an ERA over five, and Rosario with his .277 ISO and a .393 wOBA against lefties becomes a great option at this price.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Bryan Reynolds, PIT (@ STL) - $4,400
Reynolds has superb numbers against right-handed pitchers this year, including a .346 batting average and 8-of-11 home runs. His .407 wOBA against righties gives him a nice floor at this price. Throw in that he already has two home runs a .407 batting average in August and he is a solid pick today.
Mark Canha, OAK (@ CWS) - $4,300
Canha has become a solid pick all around this season, but against right-handed pitchers, he has 12 of his 17 home runs with a .264 ISO and a .380 wOBA.
Nick Castellanos, CHC (@ CIN) - $4,300
It has not been a great season for Castellanos but is having a strong August so far. In 40 PA he has four home runs, 10 extra-base hits, a .405 batting average, .486 ISO and a .537 wOBA with a wRC+ at 238. On his current form, there are not many better hitters right now.
