DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Justin Verlander - P, vs CWS ($13,400)
With limited options at starting pitcher tonight, I have no problems with taking the most expensive pitcher on the slate in Verlander. Even with some recent struggles, Verlander has insane numbers on the year, with a 31.2% K-rate and a 5.2% walk-rate, good for a 2.12 ERA and 2.64 FIP. He's far and away the best pitcher on the slate, and a guy you can build your team around.
Marco Gonzales - P, vs LAA ($7,300)
Gonzales is coming off of a complete game against the Royals where he allowed just one run with seven strikeouts and no walks. You'd think that his price tag would be higher after that. Gonzales has a 3.41 FIP this year and actually has a decent matchup against the Angels - they have only a .300 wOBA versus lefties, good for 21st in the league. His strikeout upside is limited, but I still like Gonzales in cash games.
DraftKings DFS Infielders
Justin Bour - 1B, at WAS ($3,500)
Bour destroys right-handed pitching, as he's got a 130 wRC+ against them this season. Nats starter Jeremy Hellickson, isn't quite as good as his ERA suggests, as he's got a 3.50 FIP this year and is reportedly making this start while he's sick. If Hellickson doesn't last, Bour will get to face Jefry Rodriguez, an even better matchup. Either way, Bour should get his hits in off of righties.
Dee Gordon - 2B/OF, vs LAA ($3,700)
Gordon will get lots of opportunities for production as the Mariners leadoff man, as he should see plenty of plate appearances, with the chance to score runs and steal bags. Opposing starter Jaime Barria has a 4.81 FIP, so if the Mariners lineup has a big day, Gordon will certainly be involved.
Adrian Beltre - 3B, at DET ($3,700)
Throughout his career, Beltre has always mashed left-handed pitching, and that's still no different this season. He's got a .372 wOBA off of southpaws this season and gets an easy matchup in Matt Boyd. Boyd has a 4.18 ERA, so Beltre can drive in some runs as the Rangers cleanup hitter.
Trea Turner - SS, vs MIA ($4,600)
The Nationals lineup is projected for a huge day against Pablo Lopez, who put up a 5.39 FIP in triple-A this year and is making just his second career start. That's why I'm loving Turner at shortstop, as he will have the most plate appearances in the Nats lineup against him. Turner, of course, also has 22 steals on the year and can add to that total tonight.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Mark Trumbo - 1B/OF, at MIN ($4,100)
Trumbo has been incredible at the plate over the last 15 days, posting a 1.015 OPS with seven homers. Twins starter Aaron Slegers is a great stack candidate, with just a 16.1% K-rate in triple-A this season. Try pairing Trumbo with guys like Adam Jones ($3,500) or Tim Beckham ($3,200).
Wil Myers - OF, at ARI ($4,300)
Diamondbacks starter Shelby Miller has not had fun in his first two starts of the year, as his ERA currently sits at 11.42. Myers hasn't played much this year, but he's still got a power/speed combo that resulted in 30 homers and 20 steals last season. He can score for you in a variety of ways against Miller.
