DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Luis Severino, NYY (vs. KC) - $12,200
I'm not worried about Severino's recent struggles - instead, I view Severino as a buy low candidate in a great matchup against Kansas City. The Royals have just a .292 wOBA versus righties, the third-lowest mark in all of baseball, and just shipped out Mike Moustakas. Severino still has ace numbers on the season, with a 28.8% K-rate and a 2.84 FIP. Now is the time to buy before his price rises any higher.
Patrick Corbin, ARI (@ SD) - $10,700
Corbin's got ace numbers of his own, so it's surprising that he's not any more expensive against such an easy lineup. The Padres have the third-highest K-rate against lefties at 24.8% and play in one of the best pitcher's parks in San Diego. Corbin has a 2.71 FIP with a 2.90 Deserved Run Average this season and can be used in all contests with this matchup.
DraftKings DFS Infielders
C - Jonathan Lucroy, OAK (@ COL) - $3,400
It's tough to pass up a catcher at punt-level prices at Coors Field, the best hitting environment in all of baseball. Even batting eighth, Lucroy should be able to participate in some runs and RBIs in the high-powered A's lineup. There aren't many other catching options that I'm interested in on Saturday, so I'm saving here with Lucroy and spending elsewhere.
1B - Jose Abreu, CWS (vs. TOR) - $4,300
While his price has recently rebounded, Abreu is still at a valuable price for the kind of production he can give you. The Blue Jays are starting John Axford in a bullpen game, so expect Abreu to see plate appearances against a slew of weak relievers.
2B/OF - Dee Gordon, SEA (@ LAA) - $3,900
Angels starter Jaime Barria hasn't pitched as well as his ERA would suggest, as he's got a lame 18.5% K-rate and a 4.98 FIP through 14 starts. As the Mariners leadoff hitter, Gordon should see the opportunity to score multiple runs. He will maximize plate appearances atop the lineup and can also swipe you a bag or two.
1B/3B - Wilmer Flores, NYM (@ PIT) - $3,700
Flores has been eating well as the Mets three-hitter, with an .811 OPS in the last month. Opposing starter Trevor Williams has seven walks to four strikeouts in his last three outings combined, so even the Mets lineup can put up a big day against him. Flores can see both runs and RBIs from his spot and still comes at a low price.
2B/SS - Ketel Marte, ARI (@ SD) - $4,000
Marte has quietly put together a monster stretch, posting an 1.141 OPS with five homers in the last 15 days. While Petco Park isn't hitter-friendly, Tyson Ross is still a pitcher to target, with a 4.49 FIP.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders.
Teoscar Hernandez, TOR (@ CWS) - $4,300
Hernandez has the chance to break out of his slump against one of the worst pitchers in baseball, Lucas Giolito. Giolito has a 6.09 ERA, so pairing him with some Blue Jays teammates makes for a strong stack.
Kevin Kiermaier, TB (@ BAL) - $4,300
Kiermaier is another hitter who is struggling but is in a good spot to produce as a leadoff hitter in an extreme hitter's park. Kevin Gausman has had struggles for the Orioles, so Kiermaier should be racking up plate appearances. For as bad as Kiermaier has been, he's still stealing bases and should score some runs.
Josh Reddick, HOU (vs. TEX) - $3,900
Reddick is a nice play in cash games for his high floor batting in the middle of one of the best lineups in the league. The Astros should have lots of offense against Ariel Jurado, and you can get Reddick for pretty cheap.
