Thankfully, we have a full 15-game slate to work with on Friday as we construct our DraftKings DFS lineup. There is some top tier pitching as Vegas has given three teams the status of “heavy favorite” (at least -200 odds): Astros, Indians, and Dodgers. Don’t be surprised if I have one of those arms in my Friday suggestions.
As for the offense, five games have an over/under of at least nine total runs with COL/TEX leading the way at 11 combined runs. Yes, even away from Coors Field, Colorado gets the inflated run line.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/15/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Ross Stripling, LAD (vs. SF) - $9,800
Looking through Friday’s slate, Stripling is my borderline second-highest starting pitcher (behind Corey Kluber and just barely behind James Paxton). So, to see that he’s only the fourth-most expensive pitcher puts him high on my list for use on DK. The Giants are fourth in the league with 629 team strikeouts this season. Also, Stripling is a killer at home. He’s 3-0 with a 1.62 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 33.1 innings of work.
Jon Lester, CHC (@ STL) - $8,300
After back-to-back shutouts, Lester looks to extend the scoreless streak to three in St. Louis. He’s struck out at least five batters in three consecutive outings. Lester is 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 11.1 innings of work against the Cardinals this season. The Cardinals are 24th in team wOBA (.304) against right-handed pitchers, too.
DraftKings DFS Infielders
C - Evan Gattis, HOU (@ KC) - $3,900
When you hit three home runs in three games, especially as a catcher, you make the list. In the past week, Gattis has gathered nine hits in 24 at-bats (.375) with four home runs and an astounding 14 RBI. Houston is projected to score 5.4 runs on Friday (third-most). Jakob Junis has allowed at least three earned runs in three straight games (six earned runs in his last start).
1B - Greg Bird, NYY (vs. TB) - $4,100
Bird tallied two extra-base hits in his last start (double and home run). He’s batting .179 in the month of June, but six of his seven hits have been for extra bases (three doubles, one triple, and two home runs). The Yankees are projected to score 5.2 runs, which is fourth-most in the slate. Nate Eovaldi has allowed a combined seven earned runs in his last two outings (three home runs).
2B - Kike Hernandez, LAD (vs. SF) - $3,300
Hernandez is the money play whenever the Dodgers are scheduled to face a southpaw. While he’s only batting .215 against lefties this season, Hernandez has a .264 ISO against left-handed pitchers since 2017. Plus, he’s an affordable play at second base.
3B - Justin Turner, LAD (vs. SF) - $4,000
Like Hernandez, Turner is a lefty-masher. He leads Los Angeles with a .311 ISO against southpaws since 2017. In the past week, Turner is 3-for-9 with one double and one home run. This season, Turner has tallied a .316 AVG against lefties (.233 vs. righties).
SS - Trevor Story, COL (@ TEX) - $4,900
This is where I’m deciding to spend a large portion of my salary for Friday. Not only is Story a lefty-smasher (.357 ISO against southpaws since 21017), but he’s also having a stellar week: 13-for-27 (.481) with three doubles and three home runs. They may not be playing at Coors Field, but Texas, especially in the summer, is just as hitter-friendly. The Rockies are projected to score 5.5 runs on Friday (second-most).
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Cody Bellinger, LAD (vs. SF) - $4,500
While Bellinger hasn’t been as hot as Story, he’s still raking. In the past week, Bellinger is batting .400 (8-for-20) with four doubles and two home runs (four walks). He’s also second on the Dodgers with a .281 ISO against lefties since 2017.
Joey Gallo, TEX (vs. COL) - $4,000
I can’t go an entire post without mentioning one batter in the lineup with the highest projected run total. Gallo’s Rangers are pegged to score 5.6 runs on Friday, as they host the Rockies. Gallo leads Texas witha .319 ISO against righties. He’s only batting .105 (2-for-19) this week, but it only takes one swing of the bat to makes his selection worth it.
Lonnie Chisenhall, CLE (vs. MIN) - $3,200
If DK refuses to boost Chisenhall’s salary, I’ll continue to add him to my lineup. He’s tallied 15 DK points twice in the past three starts and yet his price tag only increase by $300. Chisenhall is 9-for-21 (.429) with two doubles in the past week and he has a .214 ISO against righties since 2017.
