DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football (9/25/21 Early)

Mike Marteny's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the main slate on 9/25/21. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win big.

Our big slate on Saturday has 12 games that DraftKings picked out for us. All are FBS vs. FBS teams and we've got some big ones on here. We kick it off with Missouri heading to Chestnut Hill. Georgia heads to Nashville to beat on the Re'Mahn Davis-less Dores. LSU heads to Stark-Vegas to take on the stark-raving mad Bulldogs who were robbed by zebras in Memphis. Texas Tech heads down to Austin for a matchup that is more exciting than it should be. We have the Battle for the Iron Skillet in Fort Worth and Notre Dame's Jack Coan taking on his former team at Soldier Field. Those are just the noon kickoffs!

The afternoon starts with Boise heading down to Logan. We have the Jerry Jones Bowl at Jerry World. Louisville heads down to Tallahassee to take it to the struggling Seminoles. Clemson heads up north to Raleigh in what could be a dangerous game. Iowa State heads down I-35 all the way to Waco. We top it off with Rutgers heading to the Big House to take on the rolling Michigan offense. This is going to be another wild one, so buckle up!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/25/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Quarterbacks

Malik Cunningham, Louisville ($8,800)

Florida State has allowed 289 passing yards per game this season. That's not bad, but it's not great either and definitely not up to their standards. Cunningham has been the Louisville offense over the first three weeks, posting 30+ DraftKings points in all three games so far. A big part of that is his rushing yards. Louisville's run game has left a lot to be desired and Cunningham is picking up the slack. He has 207 rushing yards and a staggering six rushing touchdowns through three games. He has been solid as a passer and a slate-breaker as a runner. He has a ton of upside here.

Will Rogers, Mississippi State ($7,800)

Rogers threw a whopping 67 passes on Saturday, and despite throwing 122 passes on the season, Rogers has only thrown one interception. You don't need me to remind you what the Bulldogs did to LSU last year in Death Valley. It got Bo Pelini fired after a week. The LSU defense (and offense, for that matter) is better than it was in that game last season, but Rogers still has great upside here, especially if he can avoid the turnovers that were a problem at times last year.

Tyler Shough, Texas Tech ($6,500)

This is what we were waiting to see out of Shough. He threw 35 passes last week against FIU and we were briefly transported back to the days of the air raid in Lubbock. The Red Raiders have the backs to be balanced here, but they are going to need to throw to keep up with Bevo. Shough has been mostly efficient and has taken care of the ball. He should provide a solid floor with decent upside if you're looking to save some cash at QB or superflex.

Also consider: Tanner Mordecai, SMU ($9,000); Connor Bazelak, Missouri ($6,800); Jack Coan, Notre Dame ($6,300); KJ Jefferson, Arkansas ($5,700)

DraftKings CFB DFS Running Backs

Tyler Badie, Missouri ($6,900)

This Missouri offense has looked really good so far, and because that defense gives giving up points by the bushel, the offense needs to keep scoring like they have. Badie has accounted for 102.7 DraftKings points in just three games this year. I have my doubts that Boston College can keep up with the Tigers here, but Badie has been heavily involved in both the running and passing games. When Kentucky stacked against the run, Badie caught ten passes out of the backfield. He is one of the best weapons in any backfield and his upside is as good as anyone's.

Blake Corum, Michigan ($6,700)

Corum has found the end zone eight times already this season. Even if Michigan still uses a couple of backs, it has been Corum that rips off the explosive runs. Hassan Haskins will poach a few of these scores against tougher defenses, but I still see Corum paying off against Rutgers. They are improved, but I don't see them stopping this Michigan rushing attack.

Chez Mellusi, Wisconsin ($6,400)

Wisconsin will need to run the ball to win this game. They can limit the big plays for the Notre Dame offense, which Purdue was unable to do. Mellusi is going to get a lot of work in this one. He has 51 carries in the first two games of the season and should be in line for another 25+ against the Irish. Notre Dame is allowing a respectable 4.3 yards per carry and 1.3 touchdowns per game. Going just off of averages, Mellusi should pick up triple digit yardage and at least one touchdown. That's a solid return for the price.

Calvin Tyler, Utah State ($5,500)

We just saw former Utah State star Jaylen Warren chew up the Smurf Turf last week. Tyler is in the same vein as Warren. I don't think he's quite as quick, but he's a workhorse who seems to get better as the carries pile up. Every team has run on Boise this year. They are allowing 201.7 yards per game on the ground this year. Tyler has tremendous upside at a low price here.

Also consider: Bijan Robinson, Texas ($7,200); Breece Hall, Iowa State ($7,000); Will Shipley, Clemson ($5,800); Pat Garwo, Boston College ($5,200)

DraftKings CFB DFS Wide Receivers

Deven Thompkins, Utah State ($8,000)

Thompkins has at least eight receptions in every game this year. That gives him a floor of eight points even if he gets no yards. He has also scored a touchdown in every game. That gives Thompkins 14 guaranteed points without the yardage. Who else has that kind of floor? Oh.....about that yardage. Thompkins leads all of FBS with 454 receiving yards through three games. He's as close to a sure thing as you can get.

Malik Heath, Mississippi State ($5,700)

It's hard to know which Mississippi State target is going to get the most looks, but considering that Rogers threw 67 passes last week, there should be plenty to go around. I like the senior Heath to have the most stable role in the offense. You really can't go wrong with a Mississippi State receiver here. Three guys went over 100 yards receiving last year against LSU and one was a running back. Of course, both Osirus Mitchell and JaVonta Payton are out of the picture this year. Who steps up this year?

Grant Calcaterra, SMU ($4,900)

Grant Calcaterra is to Tanner Mordecai what Gronk is to Tom Brady. Mordecai transferred to SMU and got his former tight end to come out of retirement and join him. Calcaterra had his best game with SMU last week, hauling in seven passes for 103 yards against Louisiana Tech, but it was the first game in which he didn't score this year. TCU is likely going to try to take away the receivers in this game as well, so we could see another strong showing from Calcaterra here.

Jalen Wydermyer, Texas A&M ($4,300)

Wydermyer has caught four passes in each game so far this season, so it really doesn't matter who the quarterback is. That Arkansas defense is a tough bunch, so I expect Zach Calzada to need his checkdown option more often in this one. Tight ends usually step up against tougher defenses. That's what I'm hoping for here and hoping the Aggies offense doesn't completely stall out like it did in Boulder. That said, the game in Boulder was Wydermyer's most productive one so far.

Also consider: Kayshon Boutte, LSU ($7,700); Khalil Shakir, Boise State ($7,400); Zay Flowers, Boston College ($5,600); R.J. Sneed, Baylor ($5,200); Ontarria Wilson, Florida State ($5,100)
