DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football (10/2/21 Early)

Our big slate on Saturday has 12 games that DraftKings picked out for us. All are FBS vs. FBS teams and we've got some big ones on here. We start off with the biggest, even if it wont be for DFS purposes, with Arkansas heading to Athens. Tennessee heads west to Columbia. Texas heads up to Ft. Worth. Michigan heads over to Madison where two of the better running offenses face off.

The afternoon starts with Louisville heading to Winston-Salem. USC heads up to Boulder for some much-needed R&R (and a W). Cincinnati heads up to South Bend for another marquee non-conference matchup. Lane Kiffin is back in Tuscaloosa to face the Tide. Rumor is he brought his team along for the ride. Oregon heads down to The Farm. Texas Tech heads east to West Virginia. Oklahoma heads to their own personal house of horrors (it is October, after all) in the Little Apple. We finish off with Ohio State in Piscataway. We have another loaded slate here!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the early DraftKings slate that locks at noon eastern on 10/2/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Quarterbacks

Matt Corral, Mississippi ($9,200)

Last year, Bama and Ole Miss combined for 111 points. Corral threw for 365 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Perhaps more importantly, he added 40 rushing yards and didn't turn the ball over. The Ole Miss offense is about the same this year, and by most accounts, the Bama defense isn't quite as strong. Kenny Yeboah and Elijah Moore are gone, but there are still some talented receivers for the Tide to deal with. I don't expect a defensive battle here. Ole Miss will get some points and Corral should be the engine that drives them.

Casey Thompson, Texas ($8,400)

Tanner Mordecai and the Mustangs put up a metric ton of yards on TCU last week in Fort Worth. Thompson threw for five touchdowns last week. I wouldn't expect that against the TCU secondary, but he does have three rushing touchdowns on the season and the Toadies were particularly gashed on the ground last weekend. There is a balance to the Texas offense that we haven't seen in several years. That's what is going to allow Thompson to have another nice game here.

Tanner McKee, Stanford ($6,500)

I know that the Oregon defense has faced some pretty good offenses, but they are still allowing 282.5 passing yards per game. McKee has racked up 745 passing yards (and 75.6 DraftKings points) in his three starts this year. He's not going to light the slate on fire, but there is decent value here, especially if he can find some run lanes like he did against UCLA last week. McKee has yet to turn the ball over and has accounted for ten total touchdowns. That's not a bad return in this price range.

Also consider: Bryce Young, Alabama ($10,000); Connor Bazelak, Missouri ($7,300); Kedon Slovis, USC ($7,100); Jarret Doege, West Virginia ($6,200)

DraftKings CFB DFS Running Backs

Bijan Robinson, Texas ($8,700)

SMU had two running backs both go over 100 rushing yards last week against TCU. The Texas run game will likely take the same approach. Roschon Johnson is a solid value play, but the big-play ability of Robinson is what keeps us coming back. he has at least 30 DraftKings points against any team not named Arkansas and only had 20 carries in one of those. Ulysses Bentley took 20 totes for the Mustangs last week and wound up with 153 yards and a touchdown. We can expect the same or better from Robinson.

Leddie Brown, West Virginia ($6,900)

Robinson carved up Texas Tech last week. The difference is that Texas is a much better passing team than the Mountaineers are. We should see West Virginia feed Brown more than Texas did Robinson last week. The Mountaineers have limited Brown's carries some so far this year, but he hast still been very productive with the exception of last week where no offensive players on either side were productive. It should be much easier against Texas Tech for Brown and company this week.

Tiyon Evans, Tennessee ($6,200)

Evans and Jabari Small still split carries about down the middle for the Vols, but Evans has been used more in the passing game and has scored a touchdown in every game. I like both of them here against Missouri, who was torn up by Pat Garwo last week. Missouri's defense continues to be an issue and Tennessee will run wild with both backs. I like a better game for Evans, but Small at $4,400 is almost criminal. He's a great value play if he's able to play. Considering he did against Florida, I suspect he will here as well.

Travis Dye, Oregon ($5,300)

No, I didn't forget about you Stanford and your rush defense that is allowing 209 ground yards per game. CJ Verdell is a solid play, but once again, I'm going with the explosiveness of Dye at a significant discount. There are some really good rush defenses on this slate. Dye still sees enough touches whether is be on runs or passes to pay off this price. Oregon's offense is very explosive. Stanford's offense playing better has given the defense a bit of a reprieve, but the issues from Game 1 are still there. Oregon will have lots of open field in this one.

Also consider: Tyler Badie, Missouri ($8,200); Zach Evans, TCU ($7,400); Keaontay Ingram, USC ($6,700); Isaih Pacheco, Rutgers ($4,800); Snoop Conner, Mississippi ($3,900)

DraftKings CFB DFS Wide Receivers

Dontario Drummond, Mississippi ($7,500)

Drummond has five touchdowns in three games and leads the Rebels in targets so far. They have even given him a couple of carries out of the backfield, as if Snoop Conner and Jerrion Ealy weren't enough to worry about. He is the Rebels' version of Elijah Moore this year, and we all remember what Moore did to Bama last year.

Xavier Worthy, Texas ($6,200)

No one was happier to see Hudson Card exit stage right as Worthy. With Card under center, Worthy caught three passes for 75 yards in the first two games combined. Since Casey Thompson took over, Worthy has 12 receptions for 188 yards and four scores. TCU will provide a little more resistance than Texas Tech, but not a lot. The Texas offense has exploded for 128 points in two games with Thompson as the starter. That kind of production starts at Thompson and flows down to his receivers.

Brycen Tremayne, Stanford ($5,400)

The quarterback change in Palo Alto has done wonders for Tremayne much the same way that it has for Worthy in Austin. Tremayne is a big target for Tanner McKee and McKee has been hitting him several times a game. Tremayne's main draw is that he has scored a touchdown in every game. His size makes him a problem for smaller corners inside the red zone. If he hauls down another touchdown on a jump ball in this one, I think we'll be happy with that production.

Jaquarii Roberson, Wake Forest ($5,200)

A.T. Perry seems to have taken over as the favorite receiver of Sam Hartman, but Roberson is still putting up steady numbers behind him. Perry has the higher upside, but Roberson is doing nicely for owners at a much more reasonable price. He led the Deacons in yardage in a tougher game against Virginia. The Wake receivers should have a lot of fun with an embattled Louisville defense here. If you plan on paying up for quarterback(s), Roberson gets you a key piece of a high-powered offense without breaking the bank.

Bryce Ford-Wheaton, West Virginia ($4,600)

BFW led the way for the Mountaineers last week against Oklahoma. The Mountaineers will have more room on the outside against Texas Tech, but Doege seems to look for Ford-Wheaton quite often. He has at least 7 DraftKings points in every game this season and has only scored one touchdown. There should be a lot of touchdowns to go around this week. If he gets at least one of those, Ford-Wheaton will be huge for the price.

Also consider: Drake London, USC ($8,500); Kaylon Geiger, Texas Tech ($5,800); JaVonta Payton, Tennessee ($5,200); Taye Barber, TCU ($4,800); Jahleel Billingsley, Alabama ($3,600)
