The last Friday of September brings us four college football games, one of which is a matchup between ranked teams. It takes Cincinnati west for the first time since 2015 and might bring us the season debut of a Pac-12 quarterback who likely should be mentioned among the greats in that conference this year.
We start off in Raleigh with Louisville coming to town. Two hours later, La Tech lands in El Paso to take on the Miners. Utah hits the road for a top-20 matchup in Corvallis. We close this out with Cincinnati heading to Provo to face BYU in a battle of Big 12(14) newcomers.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/29/23, locking at 7 PM Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks
Nate Johnson, Utah ($7,400)
This is going to be filled with caveats. If Cameron Rising suits up, I will likely avoid this situation altogether. We're not going to get any pertinent information on Rising before kickoff. I tend to think he returns, but I'm not going to rush to use a rusty quarterback in Corvallis. If avoid this, I'm on to Jack Plummer or Kedon Slovis. Brennan Armstrong is way overpriced for his production this year. Lousiville's defense has been bad, but not that bad.
As for Johnson, he is Armstrong lite. He doesn't have the arm that Armstrong has, but Johnson is a better runner and usually makes better decisions on passes. For the $1,300 savings, I like Johnson over Armstrong if Rising is ruled out...or at least out of uniform.
Jack Turner, Louisiana Tech ($5,400)
Even if Hank Bachmeier is healthy, I'm not sure the Bulldogs should go back to him. Plummer looked good in a road contest at a tough place to play in Nebraska. He completed 27 of 42 passes for 292 yards while rushing for 17 more. He made good decisions most of the game despite running for his life half the day. UTEP won't provide nearly as much resistance. If Bachmeier plays, I suppose I'll use him, but Turner proves that the Bulldogs have no reason to rush him back.
Also consider: Jack Plummer, Louisville ($8,500); Emory Jones, Cincinnati ($6,900)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs
Jawhar Jordan, Louisville ($7,000)
The Wolfpack defense has been pretty good, but I'm not sure it matters. Jordan has put up huge numbers on everyone, including an improved Georgia Tech defense and a solid Indiana defense. Jordan has seven touchdowns in four games. The Pack might succeed in limiting his yardage, but I can just about guarantee that he'll find the end zone at least once.
Jaylon Glover, Utah ($5,000)
Ja'Quinden Jackson's ankle is really bothering him. You could tell on his six carries last week. Glover toted the ball 25 times against UCLA last weekend and will be in for another big workload regardless of the status of Cameron Rising. Glover doesn't always do a lot with his touches, but with that kind of volume at this low of a price, I'm interested.
Also consider: Torrance Burgess, UTEP ($5,900); Delbert Mimms, North Carolina State ($5,700); Corey Kiner, Cincinnati ($4,700)
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers
Jamari Thrash, Louisville ($6,600)
If you have read anything by me in the last three years, you know what a fan of Smoke Harris I am. That said, He has very little upside. He'll rack up the points with receptions, but Thrash can break a game open and has scored at least one touchdown in every game so far. Thrash still leads the Cardinals in targets even though Jack Plummer threw it around more against Boston College.
Xavier Henderson, Cincinnati ($6,000)
Henderson continues to be the target hog for Cincinnati, but you wouldn't know it from the Oklahoma game. He only hauled in three of 10 targets, but it wasn't all his fault. That defense is really good in the secondary. I expect another double-digit target game from Jones and Henderson to haul in at least half of them.
Darius Lassiter, BYU ($5,100)
The Eastern Michigan transfer seems to have taken over as the alpha receiver for the Cougars. Lassiter set a career-high will 11 targets last week, bringing in eight of them for 84 yards and a touchdown. Lassiter has found the end zone in every game that he has played in this season. Expect another heavy workload against Cincinnati tonight.
Also consider: Smoke Harris, Louisiana Tech ($6,800); Kevin Concepcion, North Carolina State ($6,400); Tyrin Smith, UTEP ($5,700); Ahmari Huggins-Bruce, Louisville ($4,800); Isaac Rex, BYU ($4,700)
DraftKings CFB Stacks:
Louisiana Tech
UTEP has the worst defense on the slate, but the Bulldogs have by far the most injuries and the murkiest backfield on the slate. I will start whichever quarterback starts. After that, it gets tricky. I'm a big fan of Tyre Shelton, but he missed last week's game with an undisclosed injury. Marquis Crosby might return, but he hasn't played yet this year. I have an interest in at least one Tech back, but I need to know who's playing first.
Smoke Harris is an elite option thanks to the volume, but Cyrus Allen has shown an ability to break a big play. My stack will likely be the quarterback and these two receivers with Shelton if he plays. If he doesn't, I'm leaving the backs alone.
Louisville
I would say North Carolina State, but most of their options are overpriced and I wouldn't touch their running backs. At least with Louisville, we have options. Plummer and Jordan are really good options. So are Thrash and Huggins-Bruce. Isaac Guerendo doesn't usually see enough carries for me to have an interest.
Also consider: North Carolina State, Cincinnati
