We kick off September with the bowl of soup after yesterday's salad before the main course of Week 1 tomorrow. We have a fun little five-gamer tonight that FINALLY has Miami playing Miami for Miami supremacy. I've waited YEARS for this tilt! So, who will it be? Ohio or Florida?
Everything else is an undercard compared to that, but what a good undercard it is! Central Michigan heads over to East Lansing to take on the new-look Spartans. Georgia Tech hosts Louisville in a conference tilt. Those are always fun in Week 1! We have Kansas taking on Missouri...State. It's not the boys from Columbia, but I can guarantee that they still dislike Missouri on principle alone. We close out on the islands with Stanford taking on Hawaii.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/1/23, locking at 7 PM Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks
Jalon Daniels, Kansas ($9,000) Jason Bean, Kansas ($5,000)
UPDATE @3pm Central: Daniels is likely OUT tonight against Missouri State. That moves Jason Bean into the starting lineup. The offense won't change much with Bean in there. The upside isn't quite as high, but Bean should play most of the game and far outplay his $5,000 price tag!
Who can forget the huge game from Jalon Daniels to close out the season for the Jayhawks in their heartbreaking triple-overtime loss to Arkansas in the Liberty Bowl? Daniels threw for 544 yards and five touchdowns while running for another one. The Jayhawks aren't going to turn him loose in this one, but a player this electric won't be kept down by a little blowout. Daniels averaged 37.3 DraftKings points per game in non-conference games last year.
Haynes King, Georgia Tech ($6,200)
Haynes King was the fifth-ranked pro-style quarterback out of high school in 2018. But his time at Texas A&M was marred by injury and ineffectiveness, both on his part and the Aggies as a whole. This is a low price for a guy that still has talent. It didn't just evaporate. I'm willing to take a chance on King here. A change of scenery and coaching should do him good.
Also consider: Noah Kim, Michigan State ($9,400); Brayden Schager, Hawaii ($7,900); Jack Plummer, Louisville ($7,000)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs
Jawhar Jordan, Louisville ($6,900)
Jawhar Jordan closed the 2022 season with three straight 100-yard games and four in his last five games. 115 of those came on a tough Cincinnati defense (on just nine carries) in a 24-7 Fenway Bowl win. Louisville has a revamped offense with a new quarterback, two new receivers, and a new left side of the offensive line that transferred in. Expect the Cardinals to lean on old reliable as the others acclimate.
E.J. Smith, Stanford ($5,700)
Whenever I'm on the fence about a couple of players, I always go with the son of an NFL Hall-of-Famer. It's a rule. E.J. Smith was excellent in the two games that he played last year before an injury ended the rest of his season. Smith tallied 206 yards on 30 carries for three touchdowns and caught eight passes for 63 yards and another touchdown in games against Colgate and USC. Reports out of Stanford's camp have been glowing. I'm all-in on Smith, especially when he is mistakenly priced this low.
Also consider: Jalen Berger, Michigan State ($6,700); Matt Lukes, Central Michigan ($4,900)
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers
Jamari Thrash, Louisville ($6,700)
Jamari Thrash picked up 1,122 yards for a run-first Georgia State team last season, including 467 yards in his last three games alone! His best game of last season was against a major conference opponent in Nebraska where Thrash hauled in 10 passes for 213 yards. Louisville's revamped offense is going to rely a lot on Thrash and Purdue transfer Jack Plummer.
Steven McBride, Hawaii ($6,100)
This Hawaii offense looked good in Nashville in the opener last weekend, hanging with a team that beat them senseless on the islands in the opener last year. Steven McBride led the Warriors in receptions, yards, and touchdowns in the opener. Don't expect them to stray much from that formula in the home opener against Stanford.
Jack Coldiron, Miami (OH) ($3,000)
Jack Coldiron will be a familiar face for Brett Gabbert. Notre Dame transfer Joe Wilkins and Southeast Louisiana transfer Gage Larvadain will start at receiver, but Coldiron put up a few big games in 2021 with a healthy Gabbert at the helm. This familiarity could help the offense against a major conference opponent in Miami.
Also consider: Xavier Restrepo, Miami (FL) ($6,900); Potele Ashlock, Hawaii ($4,900); Ben Yurosek, Stanford ($3,800)
DraftKings CFB Stacks:
Kansas
If this game isn't a massive blowout, Jalon Daniels has a huge ceiling. Luke Grimm and Lawrence Arnold both hit triple digits against Arkansas in the Liberty Bowl. I don't expect Kansas to throw a ton in this game, but who knows? Devin Neal is a solid back and Daniel Hishaw made some big plays on receptions out of the backfield last season. TE Mason Fairchild also returns to give the Jayhawks the most continuity of any team on this slate against the weakest opponent. This offense should come up big.
Louisville
Kansas has the band back together. Louisville fired everyone but the lead singer. Jawhar Jordan and Ahmari Huggins-Bruce are the only holdovers from last year but should be part of a much better offense. Jack Plummer brings them a pocket passer that they didn't have with Malik Cunningham or Lamar Jackson. Louisville looks like they're going back to a more pro-style offense this year and they have the personnel to do it.
Also consider: Stanford, Miami (FL)
