DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football (12/18/24)

My picks on Saturday were irrelevant by kickoff since I was heavy on South Alabama and most of its offensive starters sat out. There was very little advanced warning leading up to the game. That could be the case again until the "important" games.

We begin in Boca Raton with the Boca Raton Bowl between Western Kentucky and James Madison. We already know that a lot of players are missing from this one, so that's good, I guess. We cap off the night in the L.A. suburbs with UNLV and Cal meeting in the LA Bowl.

In this article, I will provide you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 12/18/24, starting at 5:30 p.m. Eastern. I’ll give multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Hajj-Malik Williams, UNLV ($8.5K)

The best thing that ever happened to UNLV was Matthew Sluka abandoning the team after four games. The team was solid with Sluka. The team was special with Williams. This senior-laden team is finishing what it started instead of following coach Barry Odom to Purdue.

There's no way UNLV is losing this game and I'm willing to bet that Williams is going to go out the same way he came into the UNLV lineup: with a huge game.

Caden Veltkamp, Western Kentucky ($7.7K)

Veltkamp entered the transfer portal last year but was still dressed for the bowl game. He ended up leading the Hilltoppers to a win after trailing by 28 points. That caused him to stay in Bowling Green. Veltkamp is doing it again this year. He is in the transfer portal again but will start this game. With a lot of the James Madison pieces out, I like Veltkamp to have another strong bowl game.

Elijah Young, Western Kentucky ($5.8K)

Is no news good news? There has been nothing out there about Young skipping the bowl game but be prepared for that announcement. If Young does sit out, George Hart III gets a boost, but I still don't know that I would use him.

Young closed the season strong with 199 rushing yards in the two games against Jacksonville State. Expect him to be a big part of the offense again against a James Madison defense that is built largely the same as Jacksonville State's.

Jai'Den Thomas, UNLV ($5K)

Boise locked down Thomas after a huge end to the season where he broke the 100-yard barrier three times in the last four games, scoring in all four contests. We watched Cal struggle without Fernando Mendoza when he was out this year. That should lead to carries for Thomas as UNLV puts the game away.

Ricky White III, UNLV ($7.5K)

White's season was back on track when Williams took over as quarterback. Expect the two seniors to cap off the best season in UNLV football history. They know what this game means.

Omarion Dollison, James Madison ($4.8K)

Dylan Morris is more of a passer than Alonza Barnett III. That should mean great things for Dollison. Barnett's transfer is going to allow Dollison to make an impression in the bowl game with Morris throwing him the ball.

Jonathan Brady, California ($4K)

Nyziah Hunter has entered the transfer portal and is expected to skip the game. If he does, Hunter will be the de facto WR1 for Cal at a very low price. With three weeks of practice with Chandler Rogers, these two could have a strong game tonight.

Also consider: Kisean Johnson, Western Kentucky ($6.5K); Yamir Knight, James Madison ($4.2K); Jacob De Jesus, UNLV ($4.1K)

All of the seniors are playing. The only thing different is Barry Odom won't be on the sidelines. I expect the Rebels to go out with a bang. Williams, White, Thomas, and De Jesus are all worth using.
