We are more than halfway through the 50 best days of the year for any football fan. October 8 marked day one of 50 consecutive days of either FBS or NFL football. What a time to be alive! This will keep us going until just after Thanksgiving, so, uh...thanks, football Gods!
We have half Power Five, half Fun Belt for our Thursday night with both games starting (and presumably ending) at the same time. We have Virginia in Louisville and Southern Miss heading to Lafayette to take on the Cajuns.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 11/9/23, locking at 7:30 PM Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks
Chandler Fields, Louisiana ($6,800)
Fields is a bit of a unicorn. He has been at Louisiana since 2019 and has not transferred, even when Ben Wooldridge took his job. Even when freshman Zeon Chriss took over for the injured Woolridge earlier this year. Now Louisana has a third-string quarterback who is very comfortable in this offense coming in to run the show. Few teams are so lucky.
Fields threw for 1,123 yards with 11 touchdowns and four interceptions last season. His completion percentage leaves something to be desired, but I still don't trust the Southern Miss defense. Fields should have a comfortably good game here.
Billy Wiles, Southern Mississippi ($6,700)
I have zero interest in using either Virginia quarterback against the Louisville D and Jack Plummer feels very overpriced. That leaves us with Wiles. I know that's not a ringing endorsement, nor is it meant to be. Wiles is serviceable and has cut down on errors, but he still goes games without touchdowns. This shouldn't be one of them, but you never know. Wiles is still better than the QB situation at Virginia.
Also consider: Jack Plummer, Louisville ($8,800)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs
Frank Gore Jr., Southern Mississippi ($6,500)
He's back! Gore has 378 rushing yards, 49 receiving yards on three receptions, and three touchdowns in his last two games. Southern Miss has finally unleashed Gore. It took them long enough. Now his talents are wasted on a team that won't even go to a bowl game. He's still there for us in DFS and I plan to take full advantage of that.
Isaac Guerendo, Louisville ($6,000)
The Cardinals put up a big lead on the Hokies last week and ran the clock out with Gurenedo to save a banged-up Jawhar Jordan. This game reeks of a blowout, so expect more of the same here. Gurenedo could put up another big game running out the clock in a blowout.
Also consider: Jawhar Jordan, Louisville ($7,100); Jacob Kibodi, Louisiana ($4,600)
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers
Malik Washington, Virginia ($7,300)
Washington has 42 receptions for 488 yards and two touchdowns in the last four games. It doesn't matter who is playing quarterback or whether the Hoos are ahead or not. Washington it going to put up big numbers. That's exactly what I'm looking for in a DFS anchor.
Jakarius Caston, Southern Mississippi ($5,400)
Caston has at least 30 yards in every game except for the Florida State game. Now he's getting carries out of the backfield as well. There's not much behind Gore, but Caston is getting called on WR run plays because he's another dynamic piece of this offense. The upside is big on Caston and the floor is still decent.
Terrance Carter, Louisiana ($3,500)
Carter has 12 of his 18 receptions on the season over the last three games alone. He is bailing out the inexperienced Lousiana quarterbacks and should again. He doesn't rack up a ton of yards, but 3-5 free points at this price is a gift!
Also consider: Jamari Thrash, Louisville ($7,200); Peter LeBlanc, Louisiana ($5,100); Latreal Jones, Southern Mississippi ($4,700)
DraftKings CFB Stacks
Southern Mississippi
Louisville is going to destroy Virginia, but they have several pieces with which to do it. Louisiana got lit up by Arkansas State last week and Southern Miss is playing well right now behind Frank Gore Jr. Wiles and Caston deserve to be stacked with Gore. You can get sneaky with Latreal Jones as a fourth in GPP formats.
Also consider: Louisville
